Welcome, I'm in charge around here so anything you want to talk about, let me know in advance. I'm also a compulsive liar. Anyway, welcome. To start you off, Zola in or out?
Thank you for the warm welcome! Interesting question re: Zola as I've not really given it much thought even though results have been mixed of recent, right now I would say IN and give him chance to get back to winning ways. Although I have yet to see Watford play this season it feels like there isn't the cohesiveness of last season with the new players yet to settle so I don't see what positive difference getting someone new in is going to make at this stage. Also it's managing expectations for the season, having come so close to promotion last year and with many tipping us this year it's obviously disappointing to some that we are not tearing teams apart week on week. At the same time I'm also wary of the Premier League being a bit of a poisoned chalice in being great for the bank balance but at the same time extremely deflating to get thumped week on week combined with the usual media patronising. So personally I have no great desire to be part of that circus until we are in a situation where we have a chance of genuinely competing, it might smack of having low ambitions but I'm quite happy just not to be in the situation of scrapping for survival year on year so anything beyond that is a bonus!
I still think that it is a strong possibility that the three coaches we lost in the Summer might have had more influence on the team than we might have imagined, and Zola has not replaced them as well as he might of? Welcome mate, even if I haven't got a clue what you are talking about, I hope it's not smutty
A good read, make sure you post more and join in the conversations in the other forums. Your opinions will be very welcome.
Thanks! I'll try and chip in now and again, the only thing is that I'm a bit out of the loop on latest Watford goings-on. I didn't even know about the 3 coaches leaving over the summer as mentioned by Voice of Reason earlier!
Neither do we. He makes a lot of stuff up in his head. He thinks it's real but it isn't really. It's sad but it's probably best to humor him. :sign13:
Humor :dismay: Frankly I would rather read all of TVOR's inane ramblings in English than anything with the word 'humor' in.
Oddly enough (which is a preamble to a lie I know but I do swear it to be the truth) I downloaded Avira free anti-virus software...hmm about 2 or 3 years ago. On the home page of Avira it gave you the option of your choice of language..even gave you a little flag of nationality next to your choice of language, presumably in case you couldn't read the actual languages. English is almost, nearly always the first option, as it should be but f u c k my old boots it was an American flag alongside the English language. Now I do understand that more Americans speak English than English people but there was no Mexican flag alongside Spanish, no Brazilian flag alongside Portuguese. Those languages all had their nation of origin alongside them. So I wrote Avira a very short shrift email pointing out why "English" is in fact called English and etc. They never actually replied to me but if you ever go to the Avira download site in future you will see a bright, spanking new Union Jack alongside English rather than the Stars and Stripes.
Newbie here. Well, oldie really. 45 years on the terraces and in the stands. 1000+ games. And yet I know as little as anyone else.
45 is not old, if it is I'm in trouble. When I read out your name (I have to read aloud) is it "the big Ow" or "the big zero"?:]] Welcome to the forums.
Hell all. I'm a newbie also. Live in Glasgow but try to get to as many games as possible and Zola's doing a brilliant job.
Welcome to the mad house ZZ As for GFZ; I think he might be missing the coaches that left last summer?
What is the penchant for putting question marks after statements about? It seems endemic on this forum?
Oh, & welcome to Big O & Zola's Zebra from a fellow relative newbie. My experience so far is that this is a friendly place with good banter - & the usual pointless arguments requisite to all football forums!
It would imply that I was either asking a question or was unsure of myself. As I am sure I know everything neither is the case.
Which is the very reason a question mark has to be used when making such statements on this board. Turn to the right page already, good grief.
Welcome Zebra. Think you may have to change your username shortly. He certainly is doing a brilliant job of getting us sucked into a relegation scrap.....
Hello all, first time poster here. Had a season ticket 07/08, but since heading to uni i'm sadly an infrequent visitor to the Vic nowadays (4 or 5 times a season). Newly unemployed, and this forum seems as good a place to waste my time as any.
