you just read too many papers ... because he hasn't fitted in up there can't take away the heights he has reached before. And if Liverpool are paying his wages in the hope we can resurrect his value then it's too good to turn down.
I work with a load of Liverpool fans and I said at the beginning of the season it would be funny if we signed him and he was a hit. lots of obvious Italian and agent connections to us... I read Liverpool were prepared to pay 60-70% of the wages so no one would be mad enough to sign him perminantly. Same article recons he s got a mega loyalty bonus that kicks in if he's still at Pool by the end of the season. If going on loan effects that there's no chance..
I'm really on the fence with this one. Undoubted ability, with a questionable attitude. HOWEVER, I think being a big fish in a tiny pond will suit him better and probably put more pressure on him to perform (the media will dub it his last chance), to which he hopefully will. Year long loan with most of his wages paid by Liverpool and I think he'd be worth a gamble.
A brilliant story from Jose Mourinho about Balotelli at Inter...
In my experience footballers would rather be playing than collecting bonuses they've done nothing to deserve. Apart from that there's no reason a loan should affect it anyway.
If Liverpool are that desperate to get him out the door they'll sort something out if a loan deal effects this
I don't know. If we could send him back then I'd probably be on board. Would he destroy the morale of the team, or would he enjoy being the main star and know that he is seriously on his last chance? I can see why Quique might give him more confidence than Mancini or Rogers. A very Pozzo-like signing. Wait, have I just convinced myself writing this that signing Balotelli is a good idea? Ahhh.
My opinion of him is nothing to do with his off field antics Too many times i've seen this guy decide he doesn't fancy it and slouch around the pitch, picking up needless yellow and red cards and arguing with teammates I honestly think he suffers from mental illness, he isn't all there
Just coming to think of it, the main link here is his agent being good mates with Gino..... ..... What good mate would send Balotelli over Ibrahimovic?
Yes, because the guy occasionally doesn't fancy it, he quite clearly suffers from a mental illness...... In fact, anyone who goes into work and thinks "Ooohhh it's f**king Monday" quite clearly suffers from a mental illness.... Anyone who works outdoors and sees it's raining when they wake up, and thinks "Oh I don't want to work today" quite clearly suffers from a mental illness.
We would be guaranteed for the drop. He is not an under-performing star just waiting for a chance to resurrect his career he is a big red self-destruct button who used to be a footballer and is now just a media- joke. The thought of this self-important prima-donna wandering round the pitch moaning because he hasn't been supplied with a guilt -edged chance for a good 10 mins, while TD, OI and MV look on from the bench makes me feel sick. In Pozzo we trust, .....unless he's serious about Mario, then all credibility is gone.
Yes, not liking Mondays and not wanting to go out in the rain, that's exactly what Mario has done over the last 3-4 years...great comparison.
Just because someone cannot be bothered, and prances round the pitch doing f**k all, how does that equate to someone suffering from a mental illness?
Of course. It was a fun rumour though. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/13610028.Watford_have_no_interest_in_signing_Balotelli/
Thats not the basis of it.... I'm talking more about him setting off fireworks in his house, throwing darts at youth team players, constantly falling out with every manager he has worked with, "why always me?" etc. He reminds me of Gazza in many ways, I think there is some undiagnosed mental illness there. Supremely talented but all over the place mentally
From your post, I thought you weren't talking about off the pitch matters, hence the Monday and rain comments. With his antics off the field, your guess is as good as mine. We only really see what the press want us to see. I'm inclined to think he's just an eccentric character. There's a lot of negative press out there about him with regards to the dart throwing and fireworks, but he also has done some good things like giving money to the homeless and I believe he also helped a local kid in Manchester who was getting bullied. Gazza - Sure, there was a lot of nutty things he did, but the press didn't do him any favours from what I heard.
Totally got your point. MB doesn't have a mental problem because otherwise anyone who doesn't like going to work on a Monday or going out in the rain would also have a mental problem. No? MB has clearly got a loose screw.
How do Monday and rain comments compare to MB's off the pitch issues ? How do you have anything other than negative press about throwing darts at youth players and setting your house on fire after letting off fireworks indoors ? No-one is saying he's an evil man, just that he's not correctly wired mentally.
Just spoken to a Liverpool mate and he read somewhere that Balotelli is only about £40k a week (to re-start his career) and Liverpool would pay 60% of his wages. Apparently Balotelli wants to stay on Liverpool's books as it triggers all sorts of bonuses.
