http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/...telli-but-striker-prefers-to-stay-in-england/ This article says we've already held talks with him, along with a couple other Prem clubs.
God I would so love this to be true. He would be a complete & utter waste of money probably but i don't care. (Maybe someone could post the Brian Griffin comparison photos again please?...)
Much as I can see the stargazing side of this ... It's exactly the wrong signing and everyone should know that. Carrying the luxury of an overgrown and over-pampered baby in the newly promoted season is an absolutely ridiculous idea on several levels.
Sounds like QPR type business to me. Doubt it was the Pozzos going to the agent. More like Gino doing the guy a favour because they go back so far. Balotelli = lots of money for little return, then you struggle to get rid of him as he drains your finances. We'll get laughed at if we take him, and too right; he is not considered a serious signing. Incredible player on his day, but happy to see him at any other team in the prem because he's 90% waste of space, and 100% problem child. Rather sing Barton, and I don't want to sign Barton.
No doubt he can be absolutley brilliant, and wouldn't it be great if he really lived up to his potential with us, but sadly I don't think we could risk taking on such a unpredictable player :sad3: Having said that, it's a great feeling that little old WFC can even be considered as a potential suitor for such a player!
This would be such a bad idea He has shown time and time again that he is unmanageable and a total liability
Would be an utter disaster, not funny at all. The guy is a living pantomime and would destroy the "fight for everything" team spirit. I can't believe anyone really believes this would be either good or funny.
Imagine the pundits if we signed him and Gourcuff haha, would be brilliant. Wonder if we would still be favorites for the drop?
Clearly we will replace anyone with someone who is better, there is little room for sentiment. But Deeney so soon? With this character? I'd worry that the string of hits, Behrami, Capoue, Prodl, Nyom with no obvious failures yet would come to a crashing end.
hahhahahahahahhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. ok got that off my chest. going back over the summer. Arent the pozzos good mates with his agent? Also think this is tosh but in the pozzos we trust?
Agree. The homeless will also be happy when he strolls out of Cashino and gives them a couple of grand that he won on Joker Poker as well. Big yes from me.
This is a crazy rumour! But out of all the rumours this summer, it's the only one that's made me really excited! A bit like the rumour before the 99/00 season when we tried to sign Bergomi. I have the same funny feeling!
anyone who says they wouldn't want him must be crazy .... of course he'd have to take a big knock on wages but he's a tremendous talent being wasted where he is now. If he's hungry to play then I'm greedy enough to want this to happen.
We wouldn't be able to afford his wages anyway, so any deal will be a year loan with a certain percentage paid by Liverpool. It would be fairly risk free when you think of it like that. If he did cause problems then we could send him back to Liverpool, and I can't think of any better reason to behave than that.
NEWS UPDATE; Not content with signing no English players whatsoever, Watford are now attempting to put together a team of foreign players who have scored AGAINST England in the Euros & the World Cup.
He isn't hungry to play though, he never has been He could have all the talent in the world but his attitude is appalling I'd genuinely rather sign Joey Barton
