They just lack any sense of reality on that Everton forum. They’ve expertly positioned themselves into somehow professing that they really want him.

But if they don’t get him, well they obviously never wanted him.

Seems like they don’t like losing face, so just pretend it never happened...

"Watford’s increasingly acrimonious dispute with Everton over Marco Silva could go to a Premier League arbitration panel, as the Goodison Park club are refusing to pay compensation to their Premier League rivals and have accused them of having made an illegal approach to the Portuguese coach when he was manager of Hull City last year.

Everton claim to have evidence that Watford sent Silva a draft contract to become their manager when he was still working for Hull, which, if proven, could be a breach of Premier League rules. Watford contend that there was a release clause in Silva’s contract at Hull allowing him to speak to other clubs following their relegation to the Championship last season so are confident of their position.

Watford made a formal complaint to the Premier League last month about Everton’s approach for Silva last November, which they claim destabilised their season and ironically led to his sacking two months later.

Everton are attempting to appoint Silva for a second time, having sacked Sam Allardyce earlier this week, a process that is being complicated by their legal dispute with Watford.

At the instigation of the Premier League, the two clubs met for mediation last month, with Everton offering to pay Watford £1 million in compensation, which was rejected. Everton have since withdrawn that offer and have accused Watford of attempting to distract from the fact that, in a separate dispute, the club have yet to pay compensation to Silva, who was sacked with 18 months left on his contract.

Watford’s position is that Silva’s negotiations with Everton constituted a breach of contract.

If the two clubs fail to reach a negotiated settlement, the only recourse for Watford would be to apply to the Premier League to facilitate a formal arbitration process, which would be legally binding. Both clubs would be permitted to nominate an independent legal expert, with the Premier League appointing a QC to chair the three-person panel."

Snake really is trying, bless him.

Silva has some massive red flags over him at this point:

    - Complete lack of loyalty
    - Clear lack of professionalism
    - Tendency to complain in public when he doesn't get his own way (see: his complaints about losing out on transfer targets)
    - Tactical inability to use anything other than his Plan A

He reminds me of one of the "Seagull Manager" types you see in business environments: swoops in, craps all over everything, swoops out before they're exposed.

So @Burnsy The Times has the Everton offer at £1m. Obviously that's a low ball offer, but it tends to support my earlier view that the big bucks are no longer on the table. £12m is never going to happen.

I'm also liking the work of his agent conspiring with Everton on the two wrongs make a right distraction technique.

When it comes to a fight between Watford and Everton, or rather Gino and Moshiri, I know who I back.

Moshiri is a guy with plenty of money, throws it around, and that's usually enough to get what he wants and he's not used to losing. But he's not too bright. When it comes to something like this, where it's all down to lawyers and knowing all the wrinkles, Gino wins hands down.

It could be fun watching this and a lesson for Everton and Moshiri.

    Ahh that’s fair enough.

To be fair, I don’t care if we get awarded £1 or £12m. I just want Moshiri to get dealt with, us to get an apology and Silva’s colours to get shown up in public. If this disrupts Everton’s attempts to sign him up or stops it altogether, then that’s a huge bonus too.

I'm quite happy for Everton to appoint the snake. I think he will be a disaster for them, but in the unlikely event that he is successful he will piss on them like he did us.

The fact that Everton initially offered £1m (derisory figure, but not the point here) tells you they're guilty and they know it. If you're innocent of breaking any rules, you don't offer what in football terms is technically an out of court settlement - which is admitting guilt. If they were innocent of any wrongdoing, they'd have told us where to go and made us prove it with the confidence that we wouldn't be able to.

It's obvious where this new "evidence" has come from - the snake and his agent - and is now their last desperate throw of the dice to make us back down before they're embarrassed at an official arbitration process. They really have no idea who they're taking on, when you consider the Pozzo's track record in all legal matters.

It was reported by virtually every media outlet at the time that Silva was out of contract at the end of his season at Hull, and had a clause to either extend his deal with them by one more year, or allow him to remain in the premier league elsewhere. How they think that compares to meeting in person with somebody 9 games in to a 2 year deal without a clause is comically hilarious LOL.gif .

Also bringing in to the saga Silva's non payment of his contract after his sacking is another desperate attempt to distract from the real issue. Sadly for them, the two go hand in hand, as they'll no doubt find out.

Here's a few links that reported Silvas contract position at the end of his time at Hull:

You couldn't find a better example of an arrogant rich man who's used his financial clout to buy his way through life, in tandem with a selfish narcissist desperate to have his own way. The two really are perfect for one another.

The Raffaele Riva one? The club payed out, but my understanding of it was that Gino had no knowledge of it whatsoever - hence Riva taking the fall?

My reference to their track record was from the point of view that numerous times over the years, various different sources have tried to find the Pozzo's guilty of tax evasion/shady deals etc, but none have ever succeeded. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure the man himself (Gino) has always kept his name clear.

Despite The Times reporting Watford may have breached Premier League rules when appointing Silva. Hull chairman confirmed that Silva had a break clause and Silva spoke to Porto and Crystal Palace before Watford.

Playing hard ball now will condemn Everton to facing the possibiliy of a points deduction. They are running a real risk of that if it goes to legally binding arbitration. Not only will the parties have to respect the decision but the EPL will have to act on the complaint. No sweeping under the carpet. Moshiri might have loads of dosh but Gino is shrewd and Harvard Business School. Withdrawing compensation offers or making derisory ones now is probably not very bright.

The best outcome is that Everton give up and snake loses out on the Everton job full stop.

Second best outcome is they pay us some dolla, admit guilt and then silva fails under the pressure anyway

Everton have already admitted guilt by offering compensation, we obviously have them over a barrel and they thought they could push us around.

Desperation station when they are bringing up a situation with a different club that has nothing to do with anything.

Preparing the pr sob story of how there is a conspiracy against Everton, as usual.

Silva is not ready for a big club like Everton - and whatever we feel they ARE a much bigger club than us. Their expectations of him will be immense and I cannot see him being any more successful that a former snake of ours was when he went to Liverpool. Down the line Slither will probably develop into a half decent manager - but he is not there yet and will be under pressure from the start at Everton.
Hope they get him and pay us the £15m they offered to take him last year plus some compensation on top - £20m has a nice ring about it.

Rodgers? Didn't he get Liverpool as close to the title as they've been in decades? If Silva was to that at Everton he'd be a revelation.

The Everton owner is seemingly clueless when it comes to football matters. The fact that Everton approached Silva mid season in the first place was an idiotic and disrespectful move, and now every move he makes shows him up more and more. How bl**dy stupid have you got to be to wave £1 million under our noses to see if we'll bite, then withdraw it again. If ever there's an incentive for Gino to play hardball then you've just played the perfect hand my friend.

It's going to end very badly for Everton, whatever the outcome. Long term I honestly worry for them. One of their forum posts I read said that in 5 years time Watford will be a lower league club, (obvioulsy just one un-informed persons opinion knowing nothing about our owners), but I seriously think their owner will destroy them from the inside out in a lot less time than that.

Watford are going to absolutely destroy them over Silva, we all know it, they seem oblivious. I'm going to enjoy watching the next few weeks unfold.

My greatest wish - that this goes to arbitration and it all plays out in the glare of the media.

We can all be entertained by the twists and turns as Everton progressively paint themselves into a corner and end up with public sanction and a fine from the EPL.
