  10. Just award the game to Manchester City by forfeit. Better a 3-0 than an actual match.

Gino is searching for a new number one. And a couple of talented kids to take over after that new incumbent. But Gomes has been more poor than good this season. Mind you when you have Jancrap and Zeegbum as fullbacks well.

Make no mistake we are in a relegation scrap. Desperately need to get some points somehow. Players coming back from injury and signings plus Zarate will help. But it must happen quick. We've been on a slump.

    No doubt about it.
Nobody would have expected a lot from tonight but new blood and returning players are required rapidly.
Mr Silva needs to earn his next appointment or his career will be heading the wrong way pdq.

How Richarlison is still on the pitch with under 10 minutes left I'll never know. The poor boy won't have legs by Easter.

No penalty for foul on Pereyra. Shabby officiating.

Full time 3-1. We emerge with credit. Mind you Abu Dhabi United took their pedal off the gas a bit. But encouraging signs. Some last ditch defending, Pereyra looked sharper, and no mental collapse after the quick early goal. Hope Gray gets some renewed confidence. Did well upfront.

Still need to see Capoue, Janmaat and Zeegelaar removed somehow.

About the best possible outcome we could’ve hoped for. The one constant negative is our dismal defence, specifically the fullbacks, they’d embarrass a championship side.

Gray will no doubt continue to get abuse, but he the one thing he does is get into scoring positions, which our other strikers don’t.

Once again, it's our own errors that cost us. A fumble from Gomes and an own goal from Kabasele ruined any hope we had.

That said, I would have grabbed a 3-1 loss if you offered it to me 1 minute into the game

    Excllent we only lost 3-1
    Excellent Gray scored

Played with a lot more heart, but for 80mins we were poor (last 10mins we looked much better) , passes going astray and out muscled at every turn , however City are a truly superb team and we were never going to win.

Would probably feel quite happy if it wasn’t for the Swansea result

Only saw the last 20 but they were encouraging.

Heard we have conceaded another goal thanks to a Gomes error, not surprised at all. Great keeper for us but well and truly past his best.

    Glad Gray scored.

How is Sinclair a professional footballer?

Janmaat and Zeegelaar's double act for the first goal was worse than Gomes error. Kabasele really couldn't do much else - if he leaves it Aguero just taps it in.

Only good thing to come out of tonight is that the goal difference didn't take the expected battering. But it was game over after a minute, and our consolation and respectable scoreline was down to City easing off the gas. Had they wanted or needed to score more, they would have done.

10 defeats in 14 means we're definitely in a relegation battle. Defeats to Bristol City and then Southampton must surely see Silva's reign brought to a premature end?

The club needs to get its January transfer business completed asap, not at the last minute where 5/6th choices are signed in a panic.

We're not going to be tenth for much longer:(.

All things considered a pretty decent result. The worrying thing is a few of the teams who looked doomed have picked themselves up.

Another defeat, although not the expected thrashing. When it was all to play for though, Watford were pathetic, conceding after just 38 seconds. Game over by 13 minutes.

City took their foot off the pedal after that. Anyone can play bravely when the game is over. It's when you're winning 1-0 you have to stand up and show your metal.

I'm not fooled by this, nor by the goal Gray scored. It was a tap in. It's now 10 defeats from 14 games. Only 5 points from relegation now. We have to beat Southampton. Let's see how well we play against a side when it's all to play for and the stakes are high.
