  10. Just award the game to Manchester City by forfeit. Better a 3-0 than an actual match.

    Head says City 12-0 Watflops
Heart says plucky 5-0 defeat. Either way we're going to get shafted

    As little as possible.
But I used to live in Manchester and they certainly do talk funny up there.

Which tactical innovation will Silva pull out of the hat to throw City off their stride? Will it be as good as Quique's much loved 4-6-0 formation? Or will he name two keepers on the bench like Mazzarri? I can't wait!

Head says a very large total versus nil.
Heart says a merely largish total (and one for Gray).
    Spleen says 1 - 1

Is that where we get beaten somewhere between 4 and 6 to nil?

Having spent over 75 quid on this trip (thank fcuk I didn't include accommodation) and with no chance of getting a refund on anything I'm sorely tempted to cut my losses and just enjoy the two days I've taken off work in the warmth and comfort of home, but in football you just never know. Should I brave the trip and regret the time and money I've wasted, or risk regretting it even more should I stay at home and we pull off the impossible?

I have it on good authority from a source inside the club that Arsenal had no cojones that night. Unfortunately City do have Stones back so cant see us scoring more than 4

Would be disappointed with anything less than 3 points for this one .

Silver will stomp all over my shadenfraude with a masterminded 2-0 win. Capoue and Gray with the goals. Watson bossing the midfield.

The happy clappers will be out in force with I told you sos. Hb1 will post about referees.

Shame Deeney is still banned. He would be well up for this one.

Sounds feasible. Players and manager involved in much self congratulatory back slapping and team selfies before 4 later goals in injury time leave us with a 4-1 defeat.

  21. This current version of Watford couldn't beat City if they gave themselves an extra day bank holiday and the Etihad was empty

Gray would still miss an open goal, Holebas would still get himself sent off, Pereyra would still hobble off injured, and Gomes would still let in 2 in ET

And Deeney would charge into the pitch as the twelfth man and still stand still waving his arms about.

i can see City being 3 or 4 up by the end of the warm up

if we get 2 shots on target, i think we can claim a moral victory

    It's going to be painful

Even Lawro has predicted 4-0 to City. I think the biggest defeat I’ve seen him predict before is 3-0. This time I actually agree with him.

Play Neville in the Chalobah role and Silva's watch up front as a target man/timepiece.

1-0 to Watford. Gray with a stunning individual goal similar to Barnes vs Brazil. In years to come the amount of fans who claimed to be there will be around 100k instead of the 400 who actually went.

Hold your horses everyone, I have a reason to be positive! As the transfer window is now open, I believe that we can add Brice Dja Djedje to the matchday squad. They're not going to know what hit them!

Looking at recent games both Watford and Citeh it would be a success to still be in the game at half time. Our dodgy defence can normally concentrate for 70 mins and with a few Gomes saves and maybe a lucky goal I would hope for a 1-1 at half time. Hopefully there will be a strong snow fall second half and the three kings of the Orient (not Leyton) sprinkling good luck and some dodgy refereeing decisions going our way for a change and we get an unexpected win. I have seen us beat Man City 2 or 3 times in my time and I think if God does exist though I don´t believe it he owes us some cheer after recent games.

For **** sake what are we doing , I can’t believe I’m a watford fan, how did we get 3 sent off within the first half and now Rich is injured as well ,******* referees the first, sixth and seventh goals where def offside, Silva out

Our lads aeem to up their game for the big boys.

Call it complacency vs lower league/bottom 3 candidates but they seem to step it up for the bigger teams.

I'm going for a Watford win. I'm putting cold hard cash on it.

    Okay.
Let’s go go with it. Imagine the unlikely. A Watford win.

Where are the goals coming from?
    Capoo ? Some random midfielder/defender?

Let’s say we get 3 goals from those sources, a New Year’s Day miracle

How do we stop them scoring more?
A brilliant display from Gomes plus our defenders working as a slick, brave, disciplined unit.
Okay maybe, seems unlikely but maybe.

Now all we need to overcome is our propensity to get sendings off, have to make forced changes due to injuries, the refs having a bad day/bias against us, an inevitable collapse in the last 5 minutes and we are good
