Excuse britos for being back from injury today. Prodl is a slow lump only suitable for a battle with peter crouch. Mapps is never good enough. Cathcart is Mr injury, kaboul is an old man, our full backs can't defend.
I reckon you could have definitely made that train if you'd left when the game was all over after three minutes...
These were always going to be two tough games, but - 8 to the goal difference is appalling. We've been horrendous away from home under Gracia, I don't think we've even managed a goal yet? For the love of god, drop Richarlison. He does absolutely nothing but give the ball away. Pereyra continues to flatter to deceive
The likes of Britos and Holebas aren't even good enough to play against Blackpool, let alone Liverpool. Was always likely to get beat by a very good Liverpool side, but my god does this squad need a clear out of some of the sh**e that has been plaguing us since the first Prem season and beyond. Britos, Holebas, Mariappa, Prodl, Deeney, Capoue, all starting today, all shouldn't be anywhere near a Premier League first XI. Major, major changes needed in the summer.
One team had been in the top league for 56 consecutive seasons and the other team had been in it for 3 consecutive doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out which ones which!
It was always going to be a thrashing today. Our defence is beyond a joke. Just pathetic. You just know what's going to happen, so games like these are just a bit of a waste of time. We don't even make them competitive. We made it so easy for Liverpool today. They didn't even get out of second gear and didn't need to. 5 players in our team should be nowhere near first team action.
There was a moment in the first half when Liverpool looked very unsure and somehow we just didn't take the game to them. As others have said, our defence needs to be replaced, and we looked poorly organised, our back line and understanding in attack was all over the place ... at this rate we'll end up 17th again. Seriously worried about how we'll cope with the attacking players of Bournemouth and Palace... what has happened to Dacoure?
Henderson might as well have said: "We thought Watford would come up and make things difficult for us, but... they didn't"
It's a wonder we have as many points as we have, the injurys haven't helped but good job we had the early season away wins, all priceless!
Excuse Britos? Even if he was fully fit he'd be making brain dead defensive mistakes. How he's still at the club is a mystery to me
What a player that Salah is. Sometimes you just have to say well done to the opposition. We've been thrashed away to a bloody good side. No shame in that. The scousers in this boozer think the score is harsh on us, but I've got no complaints.
Proud of the lads today. Scoreline doesn't do us justice. On another night it could have been 7-8 but they took their chances and we didn't create any.
I was the only one who forecasted 5-0 in the score prediction league, I didn't want to be right but there you go!
Think Gracia got this one completely wrong. Obviously a very difficult place to come and the only way we’d ever get a result is by every player playing a blinder but putting Britos alone on arguably the best player in the PL in his first game back for ages? The defence is really a worry and for whatever issues we have up top, the ones at the back are far more pressing and a real change has to be made in summer. Don’t really know how capoue, Richie and,to some extent, deeney keep getting selected - hope it’s not similar to how QSF kept selecting the same staring XI despite form. Pereyra played pretty well.
It’s the lack of effort from the players that is most offensive. There was nothing in the first half. No urgency. They have no pride and if that’s how they’re going to perform for the rest of the season, I’ll be withdrawing my support.
There is plenty of shame in the performance of some of our players today. No shame in being well beat by such a good side, no, but a lot of shame in the quite simply embarrassing performances of some of our players. How many time did Holebas nonchalantly just knock it straight out of play? How many times was Britos on his arse? How many times did Mariappa hoof to absolutely no one? It was just tragic.
We gave up any hope of getting anything tonight before a ball was kicked. Gracia's motivating comments about it being a hard place to go set the scene and the players looked like they'd rather be anywhere else while doing the minute's applause before the game. I've no idea what the tactical plan was but presumably the players just ignored it.
On the bright side, at least I neither travelled up to the game, or even watched a minute of that ****.
Yeah the QSF comparison is valid. I know he gets stick, but why is Gray not even getting a look in? He at least gives us pace, which neither Deeney or Okaka have. Rich > Hughes as well? I find that very odd. You are playing a player who can't wait to give the ball away over one that rarely gives it away. Even Ndong is an odd omission. Surely today was the right time to put an extra midfielder in there.
The shame is most of us expected it. It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised once in a while. Some of our players have started believing the hype about them,or are listening to their agents too much. Some clearly are limited and against elite sides are exposed. Some will not be with us next season. Thank goodness that's over!
Karnesis - 5, could have done better with two of the goals, couple of decent saves. Britos - 6, did well not to cry after the assault by Salah. Brave. Prodl - 6, good to see Ekstrand again after his injury. Mariappa - 6, he lent Troy some money when he was in prison Kiko - 7, runs fast. Free transfer in the summer. Holebas - 8, great assists for the goals, didn't get sent off. Doucoure - 6, didn't give the ball away to a Watford player. Will be interesting to see how he does in a big time 11. Capoue - 6, always say you can tell a good player by the amount you don't notice him. Pereyra - 5, missed an open goal last week. Played in a Champions League final once. Richarlison - 8 (number of fall overs and arms waved), needs a rest. Dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo by Jamie Redknapp. Deeney 9, MOTM, neat and tidy. Looking forward to his dinner. Hughes - 2, couldn't see him in the snow. Okaka - 5, ran about. Janmaat - 7, used to play for Newcastle. More of a winger than a full back. Gracia 9, knows how to get a result against the big boys.
