No, I wasn't referring to that. At the beginning of the week I said was a waste of time playing this fixture because the outcome was obvious. There were the usual ***** that gave me a hard time over that statement, even though the inevitable happened. It's easier to name the players who I think are of a Premier League standard from today's XI. Richarlison, Carrillo, Pereyra and Doucoure. The rest just aren't very good. Sure, some would fill squad spots in a lower EPL side, but not many would be first team starters. This is the problem.
What about Huddersfield's current form? Or West Brom's? Or Southampton's? Or Everton's? Or Burnley's? We are nowhere near being the worst team in the league, current form or otherwise.
Apologies, my bad. Thought you were referring to this thread. I'd say there's a lot more than that. Obviously they're not showing it right now, but I think that has more to do with the coaching (or lack of) that they are receiving at the moment.
I remember the thread and it was a single poster “ZZtop” who was critical of him for being defeatist. It was in not an “attack HB1” situation. I think most people expected us to lose today. Edit: and I should add that ZZtop posts were perfectly civil in their disagreement. Unfortunately HB1 sees that as a “****” who is attacking him.
No, one that says something incredibly ridiculous. We may be in relegation trouble, but we're nowhere near being the worst team in the league.
Will Silva be a great coach one day? Probably yes. At the moment though he's making quite a few mistakes. 2 games in a row now he's taken off a player (Gray vs Southampton and Janmaat today) and it's just killed off any momentum we had. He clearly can't coach them to defend and his use of subs has been baffling, even when we were doing well. Every game we say Gray looks short of confidence. Why? Because every time he scores he's usually dropped the next ******* game! All of this on top of the fact that Silva has no respect for the club and has acted like a **** since he got here.
Yes please. 100% Get this sheetshow of a season out of the way and rebuild (yet again) for next season.
Fair enough. Just a lot of threads turn into attacking him/her and whilst I agree some of the views given can antagonise people, I just didn't want that to start here when theres no reason. Maybe not my place but was just trying to stop it before it possibly started!
Silva abused by the fans at FT? Anybody know? Also heard of a similar situation in the SEJ last week.
We can't defend, are weak in attack and we are full of mistakes. I'd say we are the worst team in the league at the moment.
Rather have 6th. Trip to Bulgaria in the pre-lim's of the Europa, here we come! Doesn't hurt to be positive...
If Man City win today and then win their next game home vs West Brom. We'll need at least a point at Stoke or we wont be able to catch them. Very disappointing if that happens.
I like Carrillo. He's got a lot of quality about him. I watched him against Huddersfield. He and Doucoure were the only two that didn't hide and go missing. He was trying to make things happen when others were hiding. He may not be as consistent as we would all like, but he's a very good player.
We are weak at the back. Toothless up front and slipshod in midfield. Its a minor miracle if all three departments have a good day. Plus the keeper sometimes let's us down. Jokanvic wont return for 2 reasons, the owners dumped on him. And why move from one championship team to another?
Ok try looking at the last 10 games, or alternatively just keep burying your head in the sand. The league table means nothing, we've stayed still while clubs below us have caught us. Teams that were miles behind us have caught us, we may not have dropped into the lower half but it's a matter of time. Can you honestly see anything getting better anytime soon?? They can either sack him now or sack him after we get beaten by Stoke, but by then it'll be too late in terms of the transfer window.
Time for Silva to go. It’s not all his fault of course, but with a new manager there is usually a positive bounce. Given we still have to go Liverpool, Spurs, United and Man Utd we need to pick up soon.
Friends there said it was better than Saints and Swans. We worked hard but didn't look threatening. Friends said that fans were supportive of the team. They didn't hear any anti Silva chants or comments.
It does so long as you aren't in the bottom three so it can't be completely discounted. But I do understand you point. But your last comment is a bit too much. Whilst I understand that it comes from a position of worry and support for the club, its too doom-mongering. Those aren't the only options. The club could also back him in the market and give him options other than the sub-standard and fairly spineless ones he currently has.
You're still struggling to grasp what I'm saying. I'm not burying my head in the sand or denying that we are playing poorly and in a relegation battle. I'm saying that we are not the worst team in the league and are in fact nowhere near being so. Stop trying to put words in my mouth and argue against a point that I'm not even making.
I think you're the one struggling to grasp that we are by FAR one of the worst teams in the league at the moment and are going getting worse. On top of losing games that should be a 50/50, like today, we are also rolling over and giving wins to teams that are in desperate need of a result (Stoke, Everton, Palace, Huddersfield, Swansea). How you can say we aren't even close to being one of the worst teams is quite unbelievable.
Everything bring equal, I don’t think we are one of the worst. But on form we undoubtedly are. I disagree that today was a 50/50 though.
