I dont understand why Man Utd would want Sarr anyway, they have no lack of talent in attack but defensively they are a mess. Strong foundations, build from the back etc.
If they paid us a a £10m+ loan fee and we get promoted then it would work out as a fantastic bit of business. The problem is if we don’t get promoted, then he might have made the difference so it would’ve been £10m in and £100m down the drain.
I think Sarr is the redline for a lot of fans. Since we're selling good players for under their true worth, that's only palatable if it allows us to keep Sarr. If he goes to, which I believe will happen, then I think a lot of fans will be very unhappy with the business the Pozzo's have done in this market. Without Sarr, I cannot see the menace and mayhem our forwards can cause. In all likelihood we'd be left with Murray, Pedro, Deeney, Gray, Perica, Penaranda, Success & Sinclair as our forward options. It's not rubbish by any means, but I don't think there's enough quality in that group to score a lot of goals. Add Geri, Welbeck and Sarr to that group and it's completely transformed.....it becomes HMS PTL. So, they've got to get this right. Only sell to United for £50m. No loan deals. They are the richest club on the planet.......if they want him, they've got to pay for him.
We'll most likely end up loaning Welbeck and Deulofeu out, so that'll be wages off the books and a couple of million in loan fees. Makes no sense to do the same with Sarr. I'm cautiously optimistic that Gino will realise that keeping Sarr is vital to our chances.
Last season they conceded basically the same number of goals as Liverpool and City, but scored 20 goals fewer than Liverpool and almost 40 goals fewer than City. In attack they basically have Rashford, Martial and Greenwood, which is a very good front 3 but that's basically it. The drop off in quality from those 3 to anyone else they have going forwards is massive. It means that they basically have to keep running Rashford in to the ground even when he's not fully fit or in form, and playing Greenwood perhaps more frequently than ideal given his age. They have zero quality backup or rotation options. I still don't think they'll sign Sarr though, and I don't think he'd be a good fit for their style of play, but they def need another one or two attacking options.
A loan without an obligation to buy would be a terrible deal for us. Even a loan with an obligation to buy doesn’t help us much as we need the money now. Would be incredibly disappointed if we loaned him out for a 10m fee and wages and then missed out on promotion. It makes no sense from our end to loan out a player who could get us promoted this season. Hoping Gino and go see this too.
If they sell James to Leeds for the amazing sum of twenty five million pounds then they may still pursue Sancho or get hold of Dembele. Barring any freak injuries I think we may hold onto Ismaila until January and beyond.
If nothing else we won't get a replacement in and be left with basically no pace in our team attack wise apart from Pedro maybe.
He'll probably leave in January if we don't sell him this transfer window. Gives us 20 games to get as many points as possible.
Erm, why?! If we hold on to him until January and are near the top of the table then, it would make much more sense to hold on to him a few more months to help achieve a lucrative promotion.
If we're playing this system we only need three centre backs and two wing backs. Anyone else is a waste of wages as they won't be touching the ball.
I'm hoping when the window is finally shut and we see who is still available to us that Vlad might decide to change his system accordingly to suit whatever players we have left. A lot of people have been moaning about the system VLAD has been rigidly sticking with so far, but I think he might just have been doing that for damage limitation until he is able to hopefully play a more fluid team using some of the players that have not been available to him so far. I am hoping that things will change once we have a settled picture of who we can actually rely upon, which is something we have not had so far this season. When the window shuts I'm hoping that our season will really pick up and start in earnest and we won't look back from then. So far with limited resources Vlad has not done too bad IMO and I am expecting him to really push on once he finally has a full squad to choose from, and that includes the want away's that don't get the moves they want.
If anyone offers us “a deal which is expected to be worth more than £10m” suspect we will bite their hand off
From what I've seen of him this season, I can't believe any club would spend £50m on him. No chance of that. I'd say he's very likely to still be with us by the close of the window on 16th October.
Still didn't look 100%, first half looked decent, but second half was very very poor, probably the worst I've seen of him. Still, think some of us are jumping the gun a bit, clearly he's playing as a striker as a stop gap, I hope we keep him and once the international break is over and we have everyone back, he'll play as an out and out wide player

They were indeed, remember it was mostly academy players. Think they rested 1st teamers for a cup game or something. They're a much better side now and think they'll be top 6-ish, but we still wasted a chance today with the players they had out.
Yeah, I highly doubt that lineup beats this Reading side! I'm not sure about them for the rest of the season, this season of all seasons we shouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves, I doubt they'll be a serious challenger for promotion, but they're not bad
