I hate it. And worse still, I am indifferent to it.

But now I have a reason to live. I want them to be record breakers. I want them to go down in history. As the refreshed BBC live webpage showed 2-0 to West Ham, I felt joy through football for the first time in what seems like Nick Wright’s overhead kick.

From this moment forth, I shall vehemently support anyone playing against the scum for the 2023/24 season. I will celebrate every goal scored against them with all the enthusiasm of a famished grizzly bear tucking into a salmon. 10 measly points or less the goal. This is my football now.

Probably love VAR then tonight - denied them a penalty to potentially make it 2--2!

    Strange post.

Don't people vehemently support anyone playing against the scum every season?

Agreed, we must enjoy it whilst it lasts as next season they'll be back with us and will probably batter us both home and away.

Despite their poor start they could still easily stay up. The bottom 5 are awful and have 1 point between them, they easily mixed it with Sheffield Utd and Burnley last year who have exactly pulled up trees recruitment wise. They then just need one other team to be slightly less **** than.

Can’t see it, they’ve hardly mustered an open play chance in their first three games. It’s not going to get easier.

Sky Sports were trying to spin that they had ‘loads of chances’ but they didn’t, one of them that they showed was a blasted over shot from 30 yards. It smacks very much of our Aidy PL season after King got injured.

I can see an almighty spanking in their future. Whether that’s worse than 8-0, we can only hope.

Yeah not saying they will stay up, they probably won’t, but just saying their poor start is actually not as relevant as it usually would be as four other teams are also just as bad as them.

Everton are a hilarious basket case again, but I'd think that having somehow managed to rub together enough brain cells to not buy Che Adams, and instead buy Beto, they will be able to scrape enough together again to stay up in their recent customary shabby way.

It suits Sky down to the ground to spin their nasty little webs of interest for as long as possible.

Why else visit that flea ridden khazi of a dump?

Honestly reckon they go down without winning a single game.

Which is no less than those horrible kahunts deserve.

Win their next game and they could be out of the bottom 5. It’s any 3 from 6 to go down.

I was saying I hope they break Derbys 07-08 record for a bit of a laugh at the start of the season, starting to think that it could be on.

As ever with teams at the bottom, they absolutely have to pick up points at home. It will be extremely difficult against the top teams and West Ham are pretty good, so the real test comes when they are at home to sides that will finish in the bottom half. They must get several wins in those games to have any chance of staying up.

As an entertainment product the Prem is the best in the world. There have been some cracking games so far and the skills of most of the players are top notch. Granted the soap opera element gets a bit too much sometimes but thats how they drive fan engagement inbetween games. Arsenal v Man Utd yesterday was top viewing as were the Liverpool v Villa and Palace v Wolves games.

Half. Nothing to suggest LTN will finish bottom of the 3 promoted clubs let alone break records but of course the chance of 4 clubs all breaking the record minimum would be pretty close to impossible given they all need to play eachother :).

    Indeed.

Surely Burnley will pick up? They were very strong last season. Dyche will surely win a few along the way.

I could see the other two being cut adrift, but who knows?

Sheffield United have been unlucky not to pick up more points and have been competitive in their games. Burnley has been just as crap as Lootown, though to be fair. I reckon Dyche will work out how to make Everton more solid at some point, and I expect they will about stay up. Luton have had 5 shots on target so far in all of their games combined.

I wonder what you could get at the bookies for Everton finishing 17th on the final day for a third straight year?

"A slow start but was to be expected. Not a lot of premier league experience in the squad and has shown, being quite naive defensively but hopefully that will grow throughout the season. Kurt Zouma played exceptionally on Friday to nullify our big two up top but not all sides will be able to handle them. Unlucky not to get a penalty late on and get a point on friday, going to need decisions like that to not go against us this season to have a fighting chance. 5/10"

SMS Message: "5/10. I think our start to the season has been predictable. Lots of new players that will take time to gel, though I felt we deserved more from the West Ham game (deffo penalty... ). Disappointed that Barkley chose to wander off at the end of that game and not walk round with the rest of the team. I have a feeling there's a "mutual agreement" clause in his contract and would be suprised if he was gone in January if he doesn't fit in. from Justin Langdon

Five out of ten, for 3 convincing defeats. I am licking my lips at the potential for things to get worse and seeing the optimism and hope drain out of texts to the BBC live page. I want to enjoy seeing these fans to become husks.

Do L*t*n have “lots of new players”? I thought it was largely the same team as last season.

Seems they've gone fairly mad, actually, although I couldn't fully account for how many have started each game this season:

Last season they basically seemed to go up by winning 1-0 all the time so thought that defence might be there strong point. In the games I've seen they look all over the place defensively and it's a joy to watch.
