Guess the ground..

I'm still none the wiser. Been looking at these for days..

Selhurst Park I'm thinking.

 

No idea.. but the bottom pic is obviously a speedway or dog track.. or both. I was thinking Springfield Park but as discussed they had a very short main stand there and i'm not sure Wigan Athletic played elsewhere prior.

Just need to think of clubs that have played at oval stadiums. But then is it a current League club?

 

Top picture is their current ground, although looking a bit different, the oval ground did hold either greyhounds and/or speedway and the other amusements/ fun fair !!!

 

Ah then ive got it
Thought it might have been a club that had moved into their current stadium in relatively modern times because the oval stadium pic didnt look that old but still appeared like it might have had a football pitch marked out.

That terrace was where the two tiered stand is now. Remember standing there for the FA Cup replay in 78/79 the others were Southend Stadium and The Kuursal.

I can see why someone went for the manor ground. Same short main stand with a paddock, same angled corner stand and even a wall type thing at one end.

That low covered terrace is now the stand where the away fans were situated.

 

A nice pastoral setting for this one. A bonus point for the owners of the adjoining sports ground.

Its situated in an area that had a lot of mining before the pits all closed down.
