Arguably when you consider that Norwichs owners are worth a reported 20 million they probably are. Although they do have the advantage with parachute money.

Sounds like Leeds are the favourites now according to Di Marzio.

Rumours they’ve accepted a 5m bid for Leeds.

I personally think they should accept our bid of three shots of limoncello, a signed Elton mug and whatever is left down the back of the sofa, but I accept I am biased.

Thank god for that, we can go back to spamming the thread up with totally unrelated nonsense now.

    From BBC site/Express:

“Aberdeen have rejected a possible £4.8m Bologna bid for Calvin Ramsay”

So that 5 million bid from Leeds sounds very plausible.

Good idea, keep all the spam in this thread now we don't need to read it anymore. :)

Good to see someone getting my point but also realising it is not really a big issue. :p

Bologna’s bid was a loan with a view. So if Leeds are offering to pay now, it actually might be plausible.

That's a big offer to turn down for an 18 year old from Scotland! They must see something in him. Fairplay to Aberdeen for sticking their fingers up at pisspoor valuations of their players.

Talksport confirming we are now interested. https://twitter.com/alex_crook/status/1487721232606928897

Seems odd to become interested so late in the day when we already have two full backs (albeit of questionable quality) when it would be hard to get a move away for either and we already have an enormous squad.

Can't see us outbidding Leeds anyway.

Can't see why he'd come here over Leeds. Even staying at Aberdeen is a better option for him than coming here.

I would imagine his salary would increase significantly coming here rather than Aberdeen. Would also put him in a league which people actually watch.

The only reason I can think he would choose us over Leeds is that at Leeds you are required to put in effort.

He's playing every week up there though, he'll probably be benched for Cathcart under Hodgson.

I'm not going to be shocked if Cathcart is RB at Burnley.

Oh yeah I'm fully expecting it! A back four of Cathcart, WTE, Kabasele and Samir is entirely possible, I think Samir has played at left back before.

Yes he has, I've actually witnessed him at leftwing back too.

Would be sensible tbf for any back post headers.

I don't think many question their quality tbf. Most of us know they are shyte.

Im not sure I would go quite as far as to call Kiko shyte as he was probably our second best player last season.

We should probably have just reinforced at right back, at least with a different profile of right back who was more defensive, and sorted Ngakia a decent championship loan where he would play reguarly.

Leventhal has just tweeted again, very much laying the ground work for a Deadline Day of outgoings…or a failure to even get shifted of all the dross and some sort of comment on Tuesday about us being happy to retain those players not named in the squad.

Also says we could move if a ‘deal’ lands in Gino’s lap. Which isn’t going to be Ramsey/Ferguson or any other wanted player. So basically, any incomings will be more dross and/or those that Mogi needs moving on.

The use of the word 'tailoring' is very funny to me - implying the process is like having a bespoke suit made, say - a luxurious and purposeful choice, rather than a more accurate visual metaphor of a ship's captain being hurriedly told by his first mate that they've oversold tickets, so the ship is dangerously overloaded - you cannot have this many people on board when we set sail, but everyone is well within their rights to be there, and nobody wants to get off.

It also alludes to something that fits perfectly when delivered. Which is beyond parody let’s be honest.

Yes, I suppose I'd have to also adapt my metaphor to add that although the ship is currently oversold, several crew members from the engine room have gone AWOL.

Where Leventhal uses 'tailoring' I prefer to use 'struggling to flush the useless turds we've acquired'.

Yep. He's very highly rated and was available for an affordable price in January. This could (not saying will) end up like Andy Robertson when plenty of clubs stalled and Hull, then Liverpool swooped...

Another masterclass in miscalculation from Dopey and Dipsy. Sometimes you need to push the boat out on talent and reap the rewards later.

Not forgetting as with numerous other clubs we have antagonized the Aberdeen hierarchy with other low ball offers for Ferguson. And looking at someone like Connor Barron their other emerging starlet fat chance we could even get remotely close to signing him either. Instead lets get Kucka or some forty year old overweight liability from overseas. Hurray !

He was already linked with bigger clubs than us in January. Maybe his agent rightfully thought it made sense for him to wait until the summer when he'll get signed by someone not playing Champ football next season.

I thought he’d be the perfect fit for Man Utd. He’d get twice the minutes and twice the money. Bar a serious injury to TAA, he’ll spend most the season on the bench.

  35. lowerrous

I agree that he's definitely someone who Man Utd should be targeting given their problems at RB. He looks to have the potential to become first choice there, and as you rightfully point out TAA is still only 23 and will be nailed in that spot at Pool for a long time.

The only reason why it might not entirely make sense for Man Utd is that given how poor Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have been for them lately they ideally could do with someone capable of being first-choice immediately and I'm not entirely sure Ramsay is ready for that just yet given he'll still be 19 next season. But if they're willing to have a season of transitioning with him then he'd be a prudent move given the seeming lack of other top-quality prospects at RB who could be available.
