We got a decent deal for a player we didn't need; who would be behind Deeney, Vydra, Ranegie, Ighalo and Forestieri; and who arguably has less potential than Ikpeazu, Jakubiak and Mensah.

I understand HB's argument that if we had waited we could have got more for him, but that doesn't make the decision a poor one. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Whilst I'm not knocking the deal as we did well but how about Troy and Britt last season or Britt to replace Troy now if he goes before September?

Still think there were much bigger mistakes in the transfer market than selling Britt last summer IMO.

Not sure that even HB thinks it was a mistake as such; think he just wishes we had used a little more foresight and held on to him to become the recipients of a bid like Forests.

The debate really seems to be about whether or not you/we believe that would have happened, or whether it was feasibly foreseeable.

 

Had we told him we thought he would make it with us but a year at Boro in league one would enhance his game I'm sure he would have a new deal and agreed the loan.

Then it's a question if we could have negotiated a deal as good as Barry fry has. Who knows!! But it is a lot of money!!

I'm just a fan so for me it's a shame that he isn't still with us because some of his goals last season were very special.

Good comeback. It is a crazy notion when this amount of people agree with me, sometimes it's good to just admit you were a bit wayward with your original assessment. You were factually wrong, let alone anything else. Jesus, get the message, & let go.

What you and others don't understand is when someone has a different opinion, it doesn't make them wrong, it's just a difference of opinion.

You then just throw in an unqualified quote as saying I'm factually wrong? So what have I said that factually wrong? Nothing as far as I'm concerned. You are just another forum member that's happy to have a pop for no good reason.

You say I'm stubborn. Well if you believe your opinion is true, then you should never back down just because people want you to. That's just caving into pressure. There's no damn reason why I should change my view on this because I do not believe my opinion is wrong.

I can say you, and others that have posted on this thread, are just as stubborn. Are you changing your mind or opinion? No.....so you too must be stubborn.

It's easy to post things when you know the rest of the forum is going to back you up........but I've not seen too many on here have the bottle to stand by their beliefs when it's a minority view.

 

You have been factually wrong on the figures re: Britt imo, as has been pointed out on numerous occasions.

There is stubbornness, which I earlier praised you for, but your utter refusal to just...STOP, & bemusing commitment to post & post & post & post & post & post & post & post & post & post at length has come across as obsessive. Just agree to disagree, so many disagree that you'll be replying for eternity if you keep on arguing.

None of my figures are factually wrong. They are taken from the Watford Observer, so if you want to say the Watford Observer are factually wrong and have proof to back you up on this, then fine. I suspect you do not, and you are just making assumptions based on what other board members have said. I also suspect the Watford Observer has far better connections than you on this subject......yes?

Don't get me wrong, you seem an ok guy, but you're like many on this forum. You feel happy to tell someone how wrong they are, without the slightest piece of evidence to back you up. Ross, I know I've replied to him, and I acknowledged that I made a mistake in doing so. However, I haven't replied what must be almost or perhaps even over 100 times spanning almost a week, missing endless opportunities to JUST END IT, I've never seen anything like it. HB1 clearly has to have the last word, no matter what, perhaps I should just concede now, especially as I can't even see his posts, but it is quite funny how stubborn he is.
