But I dont like to see anyone unhappy and miserable, so Ive attached a link which will provide a path of happiness for all the forum negativatrons to relieve them of their soul grinding negativity. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/fans/official-lfc-supporters-clubs
You just never know. Van Dijk red card? Late penalty at Arsenal? It's football and we're in the mix. 1 point in it and yes, tough fixtures ahead but everyone else has to play the "big" sides.
Just consider the last three games. We lost to both Villa (after we beat them 3-0 a couple of weeks earlier) and Everton to the last kick of the games, and drew todaydue to us scoring a "cracking" own goal, and we led in all three games. Why was it wrong to be optimistic that we would win those three games? Why is it wrong to be optimistic that we could beat Man U and Spurs? We beat Utd, and only drew with Spurs because we missed a penalty. I'm optimistic we can beat any of our remaining games except Liverpool and Man City (merely "hopeful")
My "battle" isn't about whether we will stay up or down, I only piped up after you called him a troll. Some people are just more optimistic than others. All opinions are valid, even when we disagree.
You pick up Burnsy for only looking at the last few games and you want to look at 8. When you do that it should be obvious that someone will point out we are 19th after 26 games and have been more often than not been poor and gutless all season.
As I have said before, in another thread, my guess is that something that would have shocked and horrified Pearson perhaps more than anything else since he arrived here is when two of his players had to be subbed off with cramp after 60 minutes (against Tranmere for Christ's sake). Alarm klaxon blaring: "These professionals just aren't fit enough!" And this is fitness that should have been put in during the close season. Too late now. And who is to blame for that? The close season coach (Gracia) and the people over-seeing the coach's activity.
Very disappointing, not the result so much, but our lack of urgency to try and get the winner. Brighton were trying to get on with play quickly to get a winner, we showed no urgency to get on and win the game. We need wins, not just draws.
Yeah but he’d have been stark raving mad to put the balk quickly back into play given the lack of ball retention and general rubbish in front of him. It’s self-preservation for a goalie in that scenario as much as anything.
Alright. I retract the comment - he obviously does believe what he says. I still can’t fathom how anyone can remain that optimistic after the disappointment of the past three games but, fair play if they can.
I was talking about 8 because, obviously, they reflect the time post QSF. We were specifically talking about the defence that Mullins and Pearson had tightened up. Football isn't just about points attained. I wonder why some people actually bother to watch any football, as they seem able to tell which team is better than every other, merely by looking at the points table. Maybe we shouldn't even bother playing any more games this season, just base everything on the current points positions. And I repeat what I was hinting at last week. It makes me laugh when supporters that have already thrown in the towel with almost a third of the season left, accuse someone else of being "gutless".
Boots filled. Congrats on the holistic view. Of course, it’s ridiculous of me to comment on games played. And final results. What I should have done is commented on the things that you say.
I am still hopeful we can get enough points to stay up but having watched us not have a shot on target against Everton in the second half and our lack or urgency to try and get a goal to win the game today I am worried. I will be at United in two weeks in hope of a change in desire and performance.
Have you been to a Watford away game in the last say 5 years? I’m not defending homophobic chanting but please don’t kid yourself that Watford have some sort of insulated unique fanbase, it’s pure nonsense. Very few families at away matches, full of lads on the booze, some will misbehave, that’s just how it is. Great day out but football wise, we weren’t great first half and terrible 2nd half, literally no attacking threat. Needed to make substitutions earlier, clear for all to see. Still massively important we didn’t lose though. We still have a chance, desperately need Sarr back.
I didn't say it was ridiculous, if you want to just use the points attained as your evidence of what is the better team, that is up to you.
I think I need to stop watching games on the laptop, I laughed when we scored the own goal. I went to the wine bar after the game, they have put their prices up. Sad day.
The BBC gave Capoue MOTM, I thought he was well below par can’t remember any passes he’s capable of. If anyone deserved it in yellow I’d of said Doucoure but he went missing second half with the rest of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just seen the Mariappa goal on TV. He cannot be picked again for Watford. That is the end of his time with Watford. He was under no pressure at all. No Brighton player near him. If he had any football brain he would have just left it. No excuses, totally clueless. Make him come out to the fans and tell us what was going through his mind at the time. He has been out of his depth all season and today was the icing on the cake. Please leave the club and join a non league side. Kings Langley FC have some ex Watford players. Send Mariappa there, he may get a game if they are short. Jesus Christ Pearson!! Get rid of Mariappa.
