Bouazza off to Fulham tommorow for 4.2m?

SPECULATION is mounting that Hameur Bouazza is set to sign for Fulham tomorrow (Monday).

Watford are believed to have accepted a £4.2m offer for the French winger, who is set to put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Craven Cottage.

Bouazza stressed his desire to play in the Premiership last week and Aidy Boothroyd appears to have granted him his wish.

The 22-year-old was one of the stars of last season's otherwise disappointing Premiership campaign and rose to prominence with his FA Cup strikes against Plymouth and Manchester United.

Portsmouth and West Ham were also interested in Bouazza but Lawrie Sanchez appears to have won the race to sign the Algerian international.

Fulham will have one of the strongest teams in the Championship for the 08/09 season.

I'm gutted. He would of done very well for us this season. People on here didnt think he was that impressive for us last season. But he was one of only a few quality players in the prem. Yes he wasnt in the game all the time but which wingers are?

Gutted. and for £4.2m. What a joke. They want £5m

anyways whats the point in having all this money we dont ****ing spend it.

Usually I'm optimistic as they come but this sale is not a sign of ambition unless we get decent players in.

Ashton and Simpson must be loving the fact more money.

As I say only fools really believed that was ever going to be a real target...or Aidy being totally unrealistic.

Top 10 in the Championship is more likely....

I would make Bouazza stay unless he really really wants to leave and refuses to play or something.

You are right though...we won't get a replacement.

    Absolute ****ing **** take.

What was that complete tripe he said a few weeks ago? That players will only be sold for silly money?

Well newsflash: You put a poxy price tag on him, and failed to even get that!

If this is true it takes the ****ing ****, and this club had better have either a VERY impressive secret replacement or have a REALLY good excuse.

    Money grabbing ******s.

If we can get Brunt for about £1.5 million and sell Boozer for £4.2 million (plus £300,000 on with appearances) - I would call that a fair piece of business.

We have to face it he and Shittu (or more accurately their agents) want out, and if we can turn a profit and replace them with quality we should do it sooner rather than later.

There is little loyalty in football nowadays.

I agree with that totally but want a little more off Bouazza's sale pushing 6m

Frankly I'm not too bothered, this may not be quite as ridiculous as £9 mil for Young, but it's close; Hameur is worth nowhere near £5 mil. Frankly he can sod off for all I care.

And what a stupid move it is for him. He's moving to a club that have signed a few strikers, albeit not very good ones, and who have a left winger who is vastly superior to him.

  15. PotGuy

    PotGuy Forum Fetishist

Yes I know he isn't worth anywhere near that, but the point is we have lost another player with a bit of flair and somebody who could improve.

And we won't get Brunt anyway.

Surely we have learned by now that nobody actually wants to play for us right now?

    Well

I cant decide on this really i would say 4.2 mil is small but then again he has only had 1 great season and as you say that wasn't to consistant.

I think we have to look around the pitch more i dont think we have much of a problem with Wingers/striker currently i think we can do the job there.

How ever i wouldnt mind a good attacking centre mid that can score goals and create alot i think we lack this how ever we do have the hard workers.

I dont think our back 4 is bad at all really left back as stated but other than that we are fine.

So losing boozer yes its a blow 4.2 mil i would say not bad income Get a good class CM.

    Hmmm

Shouldn't this new coach be able to attract some players though i thought he knew alot of players from when at England etc... to be honest i think there is some unknown talent abroard that can be found cheap that would rip this league apart.

But will that really happen?? Id like to think so but i cant see us buying a replacement. We didnt for Ashley and we wont for Hamuer.

Very disappointed with this one if true.:(

Just a couple of points IF this report turns out to be correct, and I think thats a big IF then why did Fulham not try to do a deal involving HH?
Also if the report is right and the sale goes ahead then it just might provide the opportunity for Macca to blossom and show what he is capable of on a regular basis.
As for the price I've said before that at 5mio I think he's overpriced and would rip arms off to get that for him, and with Jobi, Smith and Macca we have potential cover with possibly a n other to come.
As for the talk of Aidys top 10 aims, this was always meant to be on a 5 year plan basis and we are only 2 years into that so to pass judgement at this stage is rather premature.
BELIEVE WE ARE GOING BACK UP AS CHAMPIONS!!

How many years have we been saying Macca is going to blossom. I really hope he does, great skills and his crossing is actually very good most of the times.

But if people thought Bouazza was inconsistent and didnt get involved in the prem  well your in for a nasty shock when your reminded of Macca how he doesnt get involved hardly atall.

We wont go up as champions if we are selling our best players.

Bouazza and McAnuff on the wing would of been the best wingers in the league hands down with probably the best striker in the league in King with a solid back 4 and experience goalie.

Bouazza replacement will be a loanee for a year. He might be good the player we bring in but loans arent the answer.

Actually I think Macca has a decent record of laying on some good ball for the front men, he has never lacked ability merely consistency which hasn't been helped by lack of a decent run in the first team.

He had a few decent games last season and a beautiful goal, but so what? I'm not particularly disappointed with him moving off specifically.

I WILL be however, if the management fails to bring quality players to fill in.

After all, aside from Marlon, who will put the ball in the net next season?
It doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of activity along those lines save a few frankly ::meh:: signings and tactical selloffs that show no reward except a ringing of the case register.

Guys this is a lot of money! It is a good piece of buisness. I can't believe some people think he's worth more.

He is unhappy, so why keep him? The only thing I am concerned about is that we are unlikely to bring in anyone better.

The next couple of weeks will be exciting in terms of transfers. Watch this space.

Yeh he probably isnt worth that much agreed. BUT he is young and he is continuing to progress. You got to look at the bigger picture.

Mean if he was performing well in quite a few games for us, mean was he that inconsistent as everyone makes out now that we know he is leaving. He was defo one our best players last season.

I just hope we do get some exciting transfers now.

If this deal goes through, and we sell Henderson to Preston, then I think it shows a total lack of ambition on behalf of the club. Young + Bouazza + Henderson = £15 million + and all we have bought is Jobi from Palarse. This is rubbish, the board are either trying to fund the ground redevelopment, trying to find money to pay off the Russo's or not too bothered about bouncing straight back up. My prediction for next season is about 13th.

If you remember, last time we went up we signed four key players in the first week of the season. One of which, signed two days before the first game, now plays for England. One, signed a day before the first match, scored 15 goals that season. One, signed a few weeks into the season scored 10 goals from midfield.

Listen I've just got in from a long and tiring game of cricket, and the Bouazza article was the first one I have read, hence not knowing about Henderson. Now I have read about Henderson I do apologise. However I stand by what I said in my previous post, just remove the Henderson parts. Ok?

Maybe some of the Young money did we not get Macanuff plus give improved wages to Aidy,King plus wages/signing on fees of Poom/Jackson?

Ok its not all of it I know but a percentage has gone.
