Lets play a 4-3-3 and really get in their faces!!!! Loach Thompson Mariappa Taylor Hodson Buckley Whichelow Cowie Graham Weimann (if available, or Deeney) Sordell Be brave Malky and play that team and let's win a game AFTER scoring first; a rarity these days Boy does that 1-6 feel like bloody ages ago. :-(
Like the optimism, but you reckon Whichelow could hold the midfield on his own? We'd have 3 midfielders who can't defend on the pitch protecting a very vunerable defence, it would be a massacre!
I don't hold out much hope of us getting anything out of this game!!! Lets face it, with our current form and the probability that they will be right up for exacting revenge on us for the 6-1 humiliation at their place, things do not bode well!!! Having said that, it's a funny old game
loach Thompson Mariappa Taylor Hodson Jenkins Cowie Buckley Whichelow Sordell Graham Or drinkwater in the middle if fit with cowie moving out to the left and marv coming on in the second half to run at darren purse's tired legs!
Cowie can defend, but you need Jenkins in there as well really. Those two could probably do a decent job in CM
Keep this to yourselves but I have been reliably informed by someone 'in the know' that we are going to win 6-1...and apparentlly the 2000+ away fans are travelling with garlands of flowers to hand out to the home supporters by means of a goodwill gesture and thanks for allowing them visit the hallowed Vicarage Road.. But before you ask..sorry I cannot reveal my source..
According to the online ticket office the vic road end is completley sold out, which would suggest a few millwall fans have found a way past the 'database only' system.
You can't buy tickets for the Vic Road End online as it's familly area. So it shows 'sold out' all the time.
Think Sean Murray could be involved in this one, he just tweeted saying he hopes to make the bench, would be good to see what I think will be our best academy player ever make his debut.
It always shows up as 'sold out' as you can't buy Vic Rd end tickets online due it being the family stand.
Would be nice to see some debutants or players such as Bryan and Mingoia given a chance I don't care about promotion so any result will be acceptable! P.S. Isn't it about time to sticky this thread and move the Donny one to the matcha archives?
I don't care about promotion either, but I do care about relegation. I'd quite like to win this to halt the SLIDE.

Massive win. Still got a game in hand over teams above us. One more win away from the magic 52 point mark. More importantly, our first win in 11 games has hopefully halted the slide! Now get Jordan Mutch back in and climb the league again.
Good win today and a rare clean sheet.Hopefully this can set us on a bit of an unbeaten run and still only 8 points off the play-offs with a game in hand.
Great result. Loach highlighted how important it is for him to come off his bl00dy line with a great second half performance in complete contrast to an abysmal, line sticking first half. Long may it continue. 10 academy products out of 18 in the squad today. Four started, Three more came on. That is the real victory in what we are doing here. Jenkins sounded like he had a great game too having had a tough time for a lot of this season, well done to him. Excited for next season with all our kids gaining so much experience.
It was a good game today, one where we had to really work hard and it ended up being a more physical battle due to a mixture of poor pitch, a strong physical Millwall side and a relatively dodgy ref to say the least! Our best players today were possible the boo boys favourites. Loach was brilliant, making a couple of good stops, especially the one from the volley in the second half away to his right. Hodson was solid and managed to head the ball a lot better when the predictable cross field passes to the left back position occurred, Deeney gave a lot of effort and worked exceptional hard and Ross Jenkins pulled out a performance that would not be amiss in the Premier league, he was that good today. It was not just his tackling that was good, Jenkins intelligence on the ball to do the simple thing and find one of our players with practically every pass meant that our ball retention was a lot greater than Millwall. Cowie must have covered every blade of grass left on the pitch (there is not much left to be honest!) and him and Jenkins looked really solid. I am sure Danny Graham was pleased to be playing against a defence with Darren Purse as the bloke was past it 5 years ago, and he put in a good all round performance and produced a clinical finish from a lovely Cowie pass from the right hand side of midfield. There was the usual Millwall trouble with bottles being thrown at Graham and excessive abuse in the second half when ever we attacked and there was talk of a seat being ripped up and thrown at the home fans in the Vicarage Road end but I did not see this if there was. Time for something to be done about them, whether it is make them play behind closed doors on something but seems to getting to be a regular occurrence with them again. Shame as Jacket is a good manger and very nicely clapped our fans when they asked him to wave (which a lot didn't recognise and stupidly booed him afterwards). A good win, and I would say we are pretty much safe now and can look forward to blooding the likes of Murray now instead of looking at loan option like Mutch who will not aid our players development.
I'm just disappointed why the stewards and police failed to move the Millwall fans out of the netting cordon section, resulting in families in the Watford stand being forced to move away.
Exactly what matimbers said. Millwall came to rough up our young squad and stop us playing football. Our youngsters stood up to the bully boy tactics well and this win will provide a massive boost under the circumstances. Just want to add to Matimbers words that Taylor, Mariappa and Thompson were also outstanding. The overall performance today was one of the best this season taking everything into consideration. A very well deserved ovation from the crowd at the end. Once again the Yellow Order were very good, well done lads, keep doing your stuff. Millwall fans were, as usual, ****s. Just gutted as I had a couple of £ on the first goal being 41 to 50 minutes. It was scored in 50 minutes and 30 seconds :dismay:.
Good win today under a lot of pressure. Not exactly a game for the purists but we defended pretty well and Graham finished his chance very well. Impressed by the likes of Cowie and Jenkins in midfield. Swansea will be a totally different test so pleased we got the 3 points.
Yes the whole defence were very impressive to be honest. I think Thompson will walk the young player of year award to be honest, he sort of reminds me of a young Alan Hansen. Seems so cultured on the ball, deceptively quick and never looks flustered. Also got to add about the referee. I know penalties for shirt pulling could be given each game if the ref played to rule book but the offences against Taylor when we are attacking are becoming a joke. The Millwall defender might as well have lifted his shirt of his head as he was pulling so much of Taylor's top in the first half. The fact that the ref was 3 yards away shows a bottle job, pretty much like the fact he failed to book Purse until the last minute as well. Can only assume he was scared of those 'nasty' Millwall fans!
