Venue: Glanford Park Stadium Time & Date: 15:00, Monday, 3rd January. Scun thorpe have struggled to adapt to life under new manager Ian Baraclough. After Nigel Adkins left the post, former player Baraclough took on the tough job. Working on a similar budget to Malky Mackay, Baraclough has seen his side pick up valuable victories against the likes of Watford, Burnley and Reading but results and performances have been to inconsistent. Currently struggling in 21st position, Scunny may look to add a striker in the January transfer window after failing to replace goal-scoring ace Gary Hooper after his summer move to Celtic. Martyn Woolford has made some eyecatching performances this season. The wide player has great pace and as those at the Vic in October know, an eye for goal! Recently linked with a 6 figure move to Nottingham Forest, Woolford is sure to provide an attacking threat for Scunny. Last Encounter: Watford 0-2 Scun thorpe. Scunny came to the Vic with a plan, and executed it well. Stifling the likes of Danny Graham and Jordon Mutch before scoring on the counter. Not at S****horpe though. Scun thorpe 0-1 Watford. Coming soon - Scunny fans interview
Scunny are a very good side on their day, although they aren't as good at home as they are away. I can see us not approaching the game with the respect it deserves on the back of four stunning victories against the most expensive, biggest squads in the division and getting turned over. That said, Malky is very good at keeping feet on the ground so perhaps not.
We usually dont do so well against teams in the lower part of the league but with the form were in I reckon it will be 2-0
correct. Im going for scunny in the 1st half, followed by an onslaught in the 2nd by us with a 1-9 winners and doyley getting on the end of a scunny corner with his head, and it bouncing off the otherside of his head and bouncing into there goal from 110 yards.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/localsport/8766252.Eustace_a_major_doubt_for_Scunny/ Eustace is a major doubt for tomorrow's game meaning Jenkins will probably start and Deeney should be on the bench.
Im thinking we will come out 2 - 1 winners and if Buckley is playing really well maybe we might get a few more if his final ball is better. Not sure what this is about from S****horpe forum - "Still have not forgotten your 'fans' beating a Winterton girl up at a game at The Old Show Ground. UTWI. ( And please dont get me started on the Elton John baby fiasco !!!)"How long ago was this? Didnt think any of our fans were like that...
Every team had fans like that in the 70's and 80's. Watford fans have been responsible for some major tear-ups in the past. It's feels weird to be disliked by a S****horpe fan though
Arse end of beyond. Went last year - first (and last) time on coach. Bad. On the way back there was handbags over nothing between our own fans.
Its the exact type of game we will lose. But then again, we are absolutely on fire currently. 0-2 Watford :badge:
Yeah aparently their grounds a **** hole and I wouldnt have enjoyed the journey, going to Pompey on the coach was enough for me :dismay:
Nothing wrong with their ground. I don't understand what some of you want when you go to a football match. If you want comfort fark off to cinema or something.
It's not that bad providing you don't mind your seat lower than pitch level, the sewer is an open drain running through the stand and they allow tigers to roam around the away end. Enjoy.
Eustace definitely out? Loach Doyley Mariappa Taylor Taylor Buckley Jenkins Mutch Cowie Sordell Graham Gilmartin; Bennett; Thompson; Walker; Whichelow; Massey; Deeney Is what I think..
