Encouraging but worth remembering both Millwall and Blades were missing key players.

interesting stat, last season we only won four league games away from home, this season weve already won four.

That is football Ron, with our thin squad it is bound to happen to us. Points in the bag is what counts, safety first and all that !

13 points from a possible 15 on the road.

    Superb away form.

First half it sounded as if we attacked very well and passed the ball nicely. Ramage commenting on how Sheff Utd 'couldn't live with us' first half, and we should have had 3 or 4.

Second half was different, Sordell going off at HT and Buckley coming off with 25 minutes to go meant we had no pace upfront, and the ball kept coming back at us. However, defensively we were immense. Mariappa and M.Taylor superb again. Loach didn't really have much to do.

Eustace running the game in midfield again, Graham leading the line and working hard.

    A good hard fought win.

I do think Manky could have done better with the subs though. Buckley coming off meant we were struggling when we had the ball, as we lost a pacey option. Buckley was causing them all sorts of problems in the first half. Fortunately we held on, but it could have been different.

Sheff U have only scored 4/5 goals all season!

Agreed. As far as our squad is concerned, I think we could probably do OK with one of defence, midfield or strikers out - but more than one from any group at once looks very worrying.

I am not sure Millwall were really but I stand to be corrected.

Sheff U have only scored about 4/5 goals all season (maybe they really miss Henderson) and its good we can ground out wins on the road.

    Cannot get 6 every time...

    ;)

Perhaps if he hadn't taken Buckley off we wouldn't have defended so well and would have conceded a goal?

He probably saw that United had been grilled and would be at us the whole game and thought it better to get somebody more combative on than Buckley.

First time this season we have actually held on to a lead? Great stuff.

I'm almost struggling to comprehend our season so far! Had we not dropped ridiculous points at home already we'd be up with QPR. But I'm not complaining, if we sort out our home form we'll be fine.

Fantastic win, another big 3 points up the table. I wasn't expecting a win today. Brilliant to see the lads hold on to the points as it seems we were very close to conceding in the second half.

    :badge:

Did you just text that in to 3CR about 5 minutes ago?

Absolutely magnificent. Can't fault them at all and not bothered about other results. As far as I'm concerned that's another 3 valuable points.

From what I heard on 3CR, we were very solid in defence - Martin Taylor came in for particular praise - and Troy Deeney seemed to do well holding the ball up front.

All good stuff - well done Malky (just hope he doesn't get manager of the month).

Well well well, another win! Well done boys, for the first time I was even disappointed QPR got a winner. I shouldn't be thinking about stuff like that tho. Not until April at least!

Arguably a better performance than Millwall - excellent win.

Although they may have injuries, the depth of their squad is so good they have no excuses.

Just hope Taylor and Sordell are ok.

Still manage to get some negative comments in. What must Malky do before you drop that stupid "nickname"... Premiership? Champions League?

Absolutely fantastic result. First half we completely out classed them, passing the ball ot of defense and neat one touch triangles meant that they ran out of ideas. Second half malky dropped graham to left midfield so we were under a LOT of pressure but we absorbs it well. Deeny and m.taylor come into extra praise from me for non stop running (troy) and winning 90% of challenges (both). Great away following aswell. Top stuff.

Great win and probably a good time for the international break, recharge those batteries and then come back stronger. This is an open league lets just keep adding to the points tally then have a look at the table and reassess our goals if necessary at Xmas.

    you oooorrrrrns

Great win today, and its been a really good start to the season. Malky and the team have to take all the credit for that. But we need to make sure we don't get ahead of ourselves; expections have now risen but our priority is to get to 52 points, and when we get that we can look further forwards. There's still a huge amount of games to play this season and thinks can turn very quickly, last season we were in the playoffs in December and nearly ended up relegated.

You can always be sure that after every early season win at least one person will come on her and type 'only INSERT NUMBER points to go'

Got back about an hour ago, and I must say, whilst another 3 points is excellent, we were more than lucky to win today.

The first half we won hands down, we were all over Sheffield United, and Bogdanovic was shyte, even Martin Taylor had the pace on him.

Second half was a different story though. Sheff Utd were all over us, swinging in cross after cross, and missed a couple of sitters. Usual suspect defending from Doyley was mainly responsible for this, Mutch or Graham usually had to end up getting back to help him out.

We also lost the ball a lot during the second half after Buckley had gone off - McGinn actually made the difference - his hold up play with Deeney and Cowie was very good.

May I also add that Bramall Lane is quieter than The Vic, and it is very cringey when the theme music to Star Wars is played when the teams come out - including the Red and White Wizards as United now seem to be known.
