Missed opportunity today but talk of the season being finished is very premature. It will be tough yes but we're ony four points away from the playoffs. Our next three games are vital and they will decide our season rather than one game against Coventry.

We have no right to be anywhere near the playoffs but are so no pressure really. Let's face it if we win two of our next three games (difficult task i know) people will be claiming that are dead-certs for the playoffs again.

Its not the end of the season just yet. We're no further away from the playoffs than we were at the start of the day. Massive three games coming up and nine points to win. Keep the faith. Come on you 'Orns.

This season has been a massive success no matter of results from now on. We've avoided relegation, we're still in business and we've got cracking players coming through who are yet to show their true potential. We've got a young manager whos still learning the ropes and is improving all the time.

We have a manager who is not tactically astute, doesn't promote youth enough, and cannot take us forward. Vote of no confidence from me

Just got back and can not fathom how we did not get something out of the game. Malky messed up with his first half tactics by playing very narrow and Witchelow had an absolute mare to be honest. We sort of played one up front with Andy W playing a supporting role, often being found on the left due to the total lack of width. We certainly deserved to be loosing but the second half, we had chance after chance and Graham missed an absolute open goal and then two ono-on-one chances failed to be converted by him and then big Lukus Juzwowiski (sp!) came on and scored with his first touch.

Loach had no chance with the goals but he was very poor otherwise, too slow to distribute or just poor distribution and dropped the ball in the net , but the ref gave a foul when to be honest, I thought the striker didn't do much wrong.

Drinkwater sent an absolute peach of a 50 yard pass to set Graham up for his second one-on-one but other than that didn't exactly do much other than give the ball away like the rest of the midfield. Why Buckley didn't start I do not know other than the fact Whitchelow scored 4 goals against Stevenage Under 14 Reserves the other week (playing in a different position as he did today).

No Vegan food though served at the photocopier stadium, poor effort.

Your whole post is completely laughable to be honest but the part i've highlighted really takes the biscuit.

You really need to cop onto yourself. I'm genuinely at a loss at how a rational person can say things like you always do. The most frightening thing is that you don't even seem to be on a wind up.

Bright first few minutes with weinmann coming very close, but from about half an hour in onwards we were absolutely dire. Revered back to playing hoofball with long, aimless passes to no one. Too slow to close them down and allowed them to run rings around us, it was embarrassing.
Could have been a different story if Graham had netted an absolute sitter from a couple of yards out, but then again we could have easily lost 5 or 6 nil because of some sloppy sloppy defending. I want my money back.

Blimey...just think of the list you'd have if we were actually going down etc!

I almost hate the after match reaction from some very fickle fans after a defeat than the actual losing!

That Dale Bennett gets loads of games doesn't he? And Bryan, Whichelow, Murray, Massey, they all get LOADS OF GAME TIME DON'T THEY?. AND WHEN WE ARE PLAYING POOR THEY ALWAYS ARE GIVEN A SHOT AREN'T THEY?

We had 3 young defenders plus Whichelow starting..and lost 2-0 with Malky saying it could have been "more"

    Also the same at Boro...

Does that not say something to you...its not more youth players we need to play?

Ofcourse we have lots of good players coming through but throw them all in at once isn't always a good idea as they could lose confidence/form very easily.

You absolute fool, do you ever think that the reason they are not played is because they are not ready for first team football? Most of the players that you have stated have shown that they are not ready to play regularly in the first time at the stage of development they are at now/

And I struggle with your logic of throwing in youngsters when we are not playing well. Pretty idiotic to be honest, you should be doing the very opposite.

Are you sure you're not a wind up merchant? I struggle to believe that anybody could be so naive and clueless.

It has to be a wind up , next thing you will be saying Malky is an idiot and is clueless, or has that been already covered by the exploding man.

I would usually write him off as a wind up but apparentley he was on GloryHorns a couple of years back and said similar things and had to be effectively hounded off.

Guess the only good thing about losing is it means there are plenty of football related things to read on here. If we win, nobody says a thing.

Oh well, we're not going to win every game. Malky isn't going to pick the perfect team every single week. We must have the most over-dramatic fans in the world. One defeat and we're the worst team in the world, every player is pathetic and Malky is to blame for it all.

Home...a game of 'ifs'...if we'd scored first, if that one hadn't have hit the bottom of the post...if that prat near me had a brain instead of booing a back four that consisted of two kids still academy and one just out :)

Just got back from the game, started off very well and could have been 2 up within first 15 mins. From then on in the first half we were sloppy and deserved to be behind. Second half better, but nowhere near as good enough as we have been in the past this season. The amount of chances we missed was unbelievable. Also, I think Drinkwater may be one of the worst signings in the past couple of seasons - he only seemed to pick out Coventry players today and has been for the past few games. As for play offs, never say never but looking very unlikely. Been a great season and if we keep the current lot together I say next season is looking v promising! COYH's!

Yeah, they are. Except Murray and Massey...who are both 17/18. Our side is young enough you ***.

I know you're probably a WUM but felt the need to reply after todays dire display.

do you know what, i don't care anymore ! 52 points and survival was the only thing that i was interested in us achieveing this year.

The fact that Matty W, Adam T and Marvin S have all broken through with Dale B and Lee H is a real bonus

Hopefully this will put an end to talk of the play offs and we can enjoy the rest of the season and have a 7 game party

Spot on Spud. Most here would have expected us to be in Coventry's position so safety was the season's objective. Anything more is a massive bonus. Let's build for next season with some investment (hopefully) but let's hope some of the youngsters continue to develop too.

This season is not a success if we waste a golden opportunity to secure our future, simply because we were not ambitious enough.

Went to the game today, sat in the Cov end for £13. Bargain.

Basically, nothing clicked today, we weren't really up for it and they obviously are trying to avoid relegation, so they were giving it 110%.

They never really threatened at all until the last 10 minutes after we had effectively given up. I don't mean in a sour grapes kind of way, I just mean that they didn't have many chances for the majority of the game, and nor did we. Its just they scored theirs.

Weak links? Dale Bennett was dreadful, really bad. He was responsible for the majority of our possession loss, he quite literally hoofed the ball out at any opportunity. Thompson and Hodson also had bad games, and Martin Taylor spent the game effectively trying to run a defence made up of small kids.

Loach was farking dire. I have no idea why the goal scored from his drop was disallowed, looked fine from where I was standing. He gets absolutely nowhere near long shots! Ridiculous.

Graham was feeding off pathetic hoofs from Bennett all game and still almost scored twice. Credit to him.

We had too many kids lacking in experience today, so they panicked everytime they were closed down. Bennett, Hodson, Thompson, Jenkins, Wichelow all spent all game panicking and hoofing.

    Poor effort.

Not a good display today. I think we're a team that's running on empty. It's been a long season and the kids are knackered and the older players are Feeling the strain of carrying the kids. We did create chances (about half a dozen decent times when we could/should have scored) just one of those days in front of goal. More worrying is a lack of depth in defence that leaves Loach exposed and highlights his ability to make mistakes. His error rate is too high and it really shows when there aren't many experienced heads in front of him. Other thing I couldn't understand was why did we spend most of the 2nd half attacking down the left side when we don't have players who can cross with their left foot. Spent all afternoon coming back inside - too predictable and easy to defend. At least we are safe and got some solid foundations to build on for next season - we haven't become a bad team, just a tired one.

So hard to call, Forest have won once in 10 games, yet It wouldn't surprise me if they go and win the next 3 matches... it'll go down to the wire, I just hope we are up there come that match against Preston!
