    It’s a sad endightment of the game that their actually might be some truth in that article .

    Sanchez not going to City because they wouldn’t pay the agents fees , similar with Sinclairs loan deal ... and countless other situations where the agent tells the player where he can and can’t play .

    €5m is the quoted fee for Lukebakio, so assuming this is true and Dendoncker actually wants to come to us, why didn’t we just make a bigger offer for him, rather than spending the money on a player we don’t want? Unless we were ridiculously far short of Anderlecht’s valuation. Something doesn’t add up...

    The article reads like a forum post to me. Pretty sure they referred to Watford in first personal the other day as well. I reckon its Burnsey trying to spread the dread!

    They, Sportwitness, do seem to latch on to the more genuine stories, and put some analysis in. I don't feel quite so dirty when I end up on their site. Deffo better than the Devil's bumhole offspring at HITC at least.

    Update 13.21 hours: Dendoncker is allowed to store his English dream this winter. West Ham tried to get the midfielder to England at the last minute, but Anderlecht refused the bid. That is what Het Laatste Nieuws reports. It is not known how much the English club wanted to pay. Anderlecht demand a sum of around twenty million euros.

    I’m just making a mid-season play for HB1’s crown! I honestly don’t mean to sound overly negative - it’s not my nature to do that as hopefully over shown over the years. I’m very happy with Deulofeu - I just think we are ignoring the obvious deficiencies in the squad, namely the defence. And it’s not the first time we’ve done it.

    If he’s available for €20m and the WO are saying we’ve been priced out of it?!

    That seems to be the Pozzo way, they would rather do their shopping in the bargain basement, than splash the cash. However, in our current circumstances surely they should be loosening the purse strings?

    Its worth pointing out, just because somebody is highly rated in the Belgian league, doesn't necessarily mean he's going to be suited to the Premiership. £15/20m is a risky outlay, especially when we've spent such a huge amount already

    Value investing might be another term for Gino’s approach.

    Focusing on assets which will appreciate & to which he can add value.

    I suspect there aren’t any purse strings because there isn’t a purse. Not in the sense of a budget which is there to be spent.

    If he sees value, below a certain max amount, he’ll buy.

    Thus we have as many 18 yo keepers popping up as battle ready first teamers.

    This is just my interpretation of the Pozzo model.
