Time for Gino to put the take it or leave it bid in!

Lump sum upfront ie £15M with a second installment. More quality is never a bad thing. Make it so Gino. Or at least get first refusal in the summer assuming we stay up.

With Cleverley now injured and Doucoure looking in dire need of a rest this also seems like it would be (have been) a very useful deal.

Gino and Giraldi were at the game. Doubt anything is happening.

Apparently Palace put in a late bid for him.

I've been reflecting on this and it's probably the most exciting transfer window link by far for us. If it was £17-20m then I'm not sure it is that bad a deal. It's a risk but even if he doesn't turn out great he's still likely to have a 10m resale value. If he turns out to be a star he'll go for a fortune. I still think prices are on an above inflation trajectory and investing now could see a significant future return. Plus if he truly is versatile and good as a ball playing centre back this sounds look a pretty good bonus.

It doesn't seem that big a risk to me compared to the possible benefits.

The caveats being I've no idea how good he really is and it's not my money.

It looks like Dendoncker is on his way out of Anderlecht along with several others.
Marseille have already put in an offer.

    http://www.voetbalnieuws.be/news/317709/dendoncker-onderhandelt-met-deze-club-over-een-transfer

In the coming weeks Anderlecht will mainly work on some outgoing transfers.
Players like Obradovic, Teodorczyk and Thelin have to leave, while Kara would also want to leave.
This also applies to Leander Dendoncker, who took the previous two transfer periods in addition to a transfer.

Now the 23-year-old Red Devil really seems to be closing the door of the Astridpark behind him.
"It moves around him", confirms Luc Devroe in La Dernière Heure. "He must not leave, he wants to leave, so we will cooperate, he will not return until August 6. There are transfer markets that are closing on August 9 and 16. But we have to stay patient, I remember everyone panicking after the 2016 European Championships and wondered when Jordan Lukaku was due to leave and it finally happened on July 22nd."

According to La Capitale, there is already a concrete offer from Olympique Marseille on the table.
The French tradition club last season played the final of the Europa League and finished fourth in the Ligue 1.

Surely we must be in for him? We've already collected all the savings stamps - Oulare, Okaka, Lukebakio etc - and the offer clearly said we now get Dendoncker for free.

He ticks the "Belgian league" box
    But not the "Cheap" box
    Nor the "Utter dross" box.
    Looking unlikely.

Kara would be a good option at CB for us, much better than Britos, Prodl, Kaboul etc

I reckon we are a couple of Kums short before we get a Dendoncker.

Only if we sold Doucoure. I'm all for a good squad but Chalobah, Doucoure and Dendoncker are far too good to leave one on a bench!

What's worse? Updating player threads by talking about cheese or updating a player thread who was never ever ever ever ever likely to join us with who they are actually going to sign for?

It's like updating your social media status with 'just saw my ex with her new rich and far better looking than me boyfriend, good luck to them'.

What about injuries, poor form. Maybe JG could go three in midfield. Or 4-1-4-1. The more decent players we have the better.

How many CMs do they want to sign this window?!

If we need a CM and have the money, then we really won't do much better than this guy. He can fill-in as a CB as well and would prob do a better job there than Prodl or Mapps should one of our first-choice get injured. Surely Anderlecht owe us by now after all the average buys we've had from them.

It looks like being a very satisfying window for Wolves; they are confident of pulling off a deal to sign Leander Dendoncker, the Anderlecht midfielder, according to reports in Belgium. The 23-year-old, linked with Crystal Palace, among others, is on his way to the Midlands to complete a deal.

We just have to accept we can't compete financially with almost all the clubs in our league. We have always known that. If another club wants a player, they will get him ahead of us.

Yep. This window has been a wake-up call for many. We're being overtaken by Wolves, Fulham, Brighton, Huddersfield, Bournemouth.

Still, it doesn't excuse the lack of organisation and last-minute lowball offers.
