I hope the match goes ahead but with appropriate respect shown. :(

Particularly as Reading have a few players out injured.

Maybe the 1881 could knock up a quick banner? ;)

Where has a postponement been announced? I haven’t seen one.

Additionally aren't mass gatherings like football matches the perfect opportunity to have minutes silence etc to show respect?

It's not "officially" postponed, but considering today's games are already off, it's highly probable by tomorrow it will be. Of course it depends on the decision of the EFL.

Nope, but respect the wishes of those who do.
I don't live a million miles from West Herts Crem, sometimes in local pubs, there will be "the wake". I don't know them, I don't know the deceased but I respect that it's probably not ideal to be putting "living in the box" on the jukebox and telling my best jokes as loud as I can. I have a little respect for the grief they are feeling even though I'm feeling none whatsoever. Even though I can't wait for them to clear off so I can act like an arse hole as usual.

Unconfirmed rumours that Liz 2's last words were 'King Ken'

Yeah, but Robert Peel isn't at Balmoral in one of the dining rooms playing 'Living in a Box (Greatest Hits)', whilst having a party.

    ..but I get your point.

I don't understand why a dignified minute silence and black armbands won't suffice.

I feel sorry for any fans up and down the country who have spent their hard earned money on tickets, travel, possibly accommodation to have it cancelled because the crown and/or state doesn't think we are mourning "the right way".

Absolutely childish. This country has it's frontal lobe unattached and in a jar somewhere.

Probably best not to jump the gun until confirmed! People might cancel travel plans etc.

Im respectful about Liz 2s death but also feel it's important to celebrate King Charles 3's fairy tale rise to becoming head of state. It just goes to show how anyone in the UK, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, social class, career success or educational background can rise up and become head of state through sheer hard work and determination. This is socio-economic affirmative action at its finest.

PL & EFL reportedly set to announce a decision around midday. Apparently the government are leaving it up to them to decide. Thinking about it I'd wager it's slightly more likely this weekend will go ahead and instead next weekend's fixtures will fall by the wayside if that's the weekend before the funeral on the Monday. The police will be busy, especially with mutual aid into London etc, and the capital itself will be rammed anyway without adding football fans into the mix. I can see them requesting postponements.

All royal/political deaths (major ones anyway) are signified with code words based around landmarks - it’s so the calls announcing them can’t be hacked/leaked.

It's postponed in our hearts and, even if the game goes ahead, the forum's official position is to not acknowledge it in any way.

This suits my plans perfectly. I was going to this weekends game and can't watch any games next weekend as I'm not around!

Watford fans wanting to know if the Reading game is going ahead can ask Scott Duxbury, confident in the knowledge that whatever he says, the opposite is true.
