That makes no sense as the AFCON isn’t on this season - it’s the following season. They’d be more impacted going for him in a years time than they would be now. I’m also not convinced that Sarr has his heart set on Liverpool. Sure that would be the most preferable move right now - but I doubt it would even be a factor in him not going to United. That’s a big enough move on it’s own merits. And Mane is surely a big part of the draw of Liverpool - and he’s always linked to Madrid and Barca so no guarantee he’ll be there either. I think Liverpool would have been a huge draw for Sarr this summer - so kudos to the player for not kicking up a stink to get there. But I think once this window is over, the clock resets on where he could end up.
Didn’t get to the bottom of the thread before I hit reply, my mistake! We say ‘BUMP’ around here these days though... Also, the posts aren’t numbered if you look at the forum on a mobile device! @The Voice of Reason , take note!
You misunderstand. Keighley was simply pointing out that this fact was first noted in the year of our lord 1988.
If we are to sell Sarr this window we should demand cash up front, have him loaned back to us for the season (with no wage contribution from Watford) and the right to re-sign him next Summer for the same price as he was sold at. That would represent excellent business, get it done.
Even better if we do all of that, but retain an option to sign him back for half what we received for him.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...liams-Curtis-Jones-NOT-sign-replacements.html Think this all but guarantee's Liverpool have moved on.
I've heard from my sources that Luverpool are no longer interested. Man Utd are monitoring the situation but have other targets and don't agree with our valuation. Millwall aren't interested.
Their Asst Manager has literally said in the article they won’t be buying a new right-sided player because of Curtis Jones. Given the formation they play, is it not obvious what he means? 'Instead of buying a second right defender, it's Neco Williams. Instead of buying a new right midfielder, it's Curtis Jones,' said Lijnders.
i know a few people who know people at Exeter CIty and they are also not planning on making a move at this stage
Welwyn Garden City have just signed a small hen in its late forties so they're not interested either.
Liverpool are planning on a January raid for everyones favourite cuddly right winger Nigel Farage. Sources close to Nigel say he is not keen to move to Liverpool as they sound foreign, and he has far too much racial hatred to stir up on the beaches of Kent. Other right wing targets include Donald Trump, and Boris, who may both find themselves without a club come January.
Sounds tasty. Not great defensively though, occasionally roasted. Needs a defensive midfielder alongside, like that guy Hutchinson we are looking at. Wots yer sauce? BBQ presumably?
Milwall and Bristol Rovers have enquired about a loan. WGC and Exeter were interested in a permanent deal. For all 4 clubs. The issue is.... Wages. Man Utd want to loan in and dont want to pay a penny but will contribute 60% of his wages. Ginos mulling it over.
So according to the Express Man Utd only want Sarr on loan. I can't see how that would be of any interest to Watford - by all accounts Sarr isn't one of the highest earners at the club so getting him off the wage bill isn't a priority. It's a huge wedge of cash that would swing it, but a loan is utterly pointless.
I could see it making sense if Sarr was kicking up a scene and / or Sarr's wage's were astronomical and Man U paid us a decent loan fee. However, neither of those things seems to be true, so I can't see it. I suspect it is the Express putting two and two together as Man U want a player on loan as they can't get Sancho and there has been some interest expressed in Sancho.
If Sarr didn’t agitate for a permanent move to Liverpool, he’s not going to sulk for a loan move to United.
