We did fine without Sarr last season, though that was when Gray could actually score. We just have to hope Pereyra is an effective replacement, if we start with him on Saturday it will be his first home league start since Palace and under Pearson. He might just deliver with the home crowd behind him and against a team that won't be scrapping for the ball so much, but we're running out of excuses and I imagine patience in Pearson's case. The problem is if he doesn't deliver again, the transfer window will have shut and we'll be stuck with him for at least another three months. You'd think though that if he doesn't want to play for us, he'd at least up his game so some top flight side will sign him, as he won't want to play in the Championship?
Maybe. Or we go back to no pace, Peryra looking disinterested, Deeney tied up by the centre backs and Delefeou going down blind alleys!
Yes, well done you. Correcting spelling mistakes on a football forum. I bet that doesn't happen on any other footy forum.
Torn between being incredibly disappointed and having no faith in or hope for Pereyra at all, and still barely having any idea what Pussetto will really offer us. This will be his third game being involved, so if he's good enough he might well come on exponentially as he gains experience here; a sort of Moore's Law for the Prem. Here's hoping.
Oh dear. The Doom and Gloomers are out in force again. One unlucky loss is all it took. Think I might steer clear for a while again.
Yes maybe but this always bugs me. I just don't understand why anyone bothers to correct typos or poor english on a football forum, it's really odd. Why not correct my use of "footy" to "football" ? Every other sentence has shortcuts, typos and grammatical errors ? Take Smudgers' post above " Hearsay. He will be back. But he must not be rushed back. Cannot afford him breaking down again." Are you going to bother to point out that sentences shouldn't start with "But", that the final sentence should start with "We", that it's better english to state that "We shouldn't rush him back" rather than "he must not be rushed back" ?? I always assumed it was a short lived running joke but I've realised over the months that it's actually a serious "correction service" being performed and I'm not sure whether the intention is to attempt to better educate the members or just to appear well educated ? If it's the former, don't bother. If it's the latter, don't bother. Some on here are clearly less well educated and it irritates me to see them being made to look small as "should of" is constantly corrected to "should have" for example. FFS who cares...it's a football forum and being faced with poor english and typos is something that should be an accepted part of/have life on a such a forum. As long as the point being made is understood, surely that's all that matters ?
You forgot to use the phrase "bed wetters". You're right. Not a chance we will go down and we will no doubt smash Everton.
To be honest the gloom doesn’t come from losing to Villa. More Sarr injury and Pozzo sitting with his thumb up his backside during the transfer window
Some things in life are more important than football. Like the Queen's English. (Gawd bless ya, ma'am).
Barcelona have approached Everton and have offered £85m for Richarlison. Everton have turned this down. So within 18 months they've doubled their money (if they want). I thought at the time we sold too soon and too cheaply, this proves categorically we did.
I wonder if we have a hefty sell-on clause? The only surprise is why did Barca put a bid in this late in the window? I'm sure if they had done this last week, Richarlison could have pushed for a move. He'll be jumping at the bit to sign for Barca.
I hear Bayern have offered Burnley €110m plus add-ons for Vydra. I feel we may have let him go too soon too.
Bloody good point actually. No idea, I've always done it. I do it with explanation marks too. It just looks right but clearly isn't. Thanks RC. Much appreciated. If only there were more people like you who noticed these little errors !
When they renewed his contract a week or so before sacking slither, I thought something could be on the horizon. Here’s hoping 25% goes Watford’s way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I doubt it would be more than 10%, but I'd be surprised if there was no sell-on clause. Richarlison could force this move, but I think it's too late in the day for it to happen now, as Everton clearly do not want to sell. Top it up to £100m, then I think they'd have to sell.....surely?
For sure would be a better way for them to balance their books. Naming and sponsorship of a stadium that’s not built is just cheating ffp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
