Cardiff aren't going to be relegated because of refereeing decisions. It is because they are ****.

The game against Cardiff that bizarrely ended 3-2 was the most one-sided Premier League game (in our favour) I can remember. Then we beat them 5-1 away. I’d be amazed if they stayed up.

Anyone else watching Spurs disappear up their own arseholes with their pre-match ceremony ahead of the Palace game? I’m amazed Woy agreed to let his team go out into that and stand around for 5 minutes.

I'm mostly impressed how Tottenham managed £11m in agents' fees having spent not a penny on transfers.

While racism is unpleasant, he earns more in a week than most in the UK do in a year.

"The fines are less than what I spend on a night out in London" he complains, apparently oblivious to the fact that he just admitted to being comfortable spending what amounts to a year's wages for many on a single night out.

It's like reality doesn't penetrate. He's earning a ridiculous wage and the fact some people in a foreign country said nasty things to him apparently makes him want to jack it all in. The people saying those things are scum and I certainly wouldn't shed a tear if the penalties were stiffer, but ffs, get some perspective.

"Obviously it is sad that I had to prepare for that, but when countries only get fined what I probably spend on a night out in London then what do you expect?"

The minimum punishment is a partial stadium closure, while a second offence results in one match being played behind closed doors and a fine of 50,000 euros (£42,500).

It's probably just me but when he is complaining and in the same breath telling the world he spends tens of thousands of pounds on a 'night out' it's kind of hard to feel too sorry for him.

So you’re saying if someone is rich it’s OK for them to be racially abused?

How about I help you? I said:

Hope that clears it up for you.

No it's not ok. But they should be able to put up with it better. Who cares about racism if you're rich? I certainly wouldn't be worrying about it if I was cavorting with a supermodel on a night out.

Sterling and Rose should stay in their lane. Putting up with racism is for the poor.

Rather belittling of supermodels to assume they only go out with rich chaps.

An amiable personality & a provocative posting style should win them over.

    There are 2 issues here.

One is that racism is deplorable and should be stamped out. It is clearly still a problem in football with numerous incidents at home and abroad.

The second point, completely unrelated, is that Danny Rose is an unlikeable player who is partial to a dive and makes stupid comments to the press about money (see Kyle Walker tantrum).

In the interview i heard he actually said he's got another 5 years or so at the top and then he'd happily walk away from the game as he hates it so much, partly due to the racism.
This has been twisted to a more exciting "walk away now due to racism" headline.
So basically he'll walk away when his earning potential drops and he's filled his pockets with several £millions from the job he hates so much.

The bloke's an absolute melt and I dislike him a great deal.
Even melts shouldn't have to put up with racism.

I might make that 2nd line my sig.

I'm no fan of Rose as a player or person, believe me, but he's absolutely right that to fine a national FA €50,000 for its fans' racial abuse is derisory and pointless.

He’s probably thrown that remark out there for The Sun to gobble up, knowing that their knuckle dragging readership will see and spit at the thought of a black man ******* away what it takes them a year to earn.

But it’s hardly surprising that it’s that part of the interview that people are jumping on if you know what I mean.....

Nobody is going to tell me they couldn't or wouldn't suffer a bit of asinine racism for 60k a week. As GoingDown said, racism is a lot more meaningful when you are at the bottom of the ladder.

Which bit lead you to that conclusion? Was it the part where I called the people throwing racial abuse "scum"?

I swear people read what they want to.

Less of a shock that Liverpool get the rub of the green (purple ) in an offside decision?

You can't correlate the amount of money anybody earns with somebody either giving or receiving racist remarks, they should never be in the same sentence! Danny Rose it would appear used an unfortunate set of words to describe the amount which counties F.A's are fined, which the Sun (always looking for gutter press headlines) jumped on!

Racism is deplorable, obviously, however all footballers regardless of race receive horrendous abuse from fans at grounds and on social media day in day out.

Rightly or wrongly it’s part and parcel of being in the public eye, the good thing for people like Danny Rose is that they earn so much money, they have the freedom to choose wether to continue doing it or not if they really don’t like it that much.

If he really hates it that much he should retire and allow somebody else the opportunity that might be a touch more grateful for it.

He’s not getting racially abused because he’s a footballer, he’s getting racially because he’s a high profile individual who does his job in front of thousands of people. Racism still exists outside of football, but if he wasn’t a footballer he’d be subjected to less of it because he wouldn’t be in the public eye as much, so it’s a simple choice for him (or any other footballer) who can’t take a bit of name calling.

I think you're wrong. Rose gets racially abused because he's black, nothing else. All players get abuse from opposition fans and that is part of the game (sadly) but racial abuse isn't part of the game and never should be. The abandonment of an amateur cup final in Leicester last week because a team walked off in support of their player being racially abused was symptomatic of the racism at grass roots level getting worse. It's much more common than in the professional game.

It doesn't matter one jot if Rose is a bit of a ****. He shouldn't have to put up with racism, full stop. Whether he is a multi-millionaire who spends X thousand quid on a night out or not has nothing to do with it. Those I've seen on twitter who are saying 'I wouldn't mind being called a 'white ****' a few times for £100,000 a week' just don't get (or don't want to get) how the history of racism and the fact it is resurfacing more explicitly today (probably because of the whole toxic EU referendum build up, result and fallout) impacts on black people. It's NOT just a bit of name-calling.

From kids' games to grass roots to the World Cup Final, more teams need to walk off the pitch. More fans need to call out or report any of their own fans who racially abuse opposition players. Clubs/countries should be banned / fined amounts that will really hurt them at the level they play at, relative to their finances. The FA, UEFA and FIFA need to step up and do more to eradicate it. A whole stand at Millwall chanted 'I'd rather be a p*** than a scouse' at the Everton match and what do the FA do? Nothing. The more they do nothing the more it justifies to tiny-brained, knuckle-dragging **** wits that racial abuse is ok.

Racism is a cancer that is spreading again and needs eradicating, both from society and from football, whether or not Rose is an arse.
