40m? What happened to the other 10m? Anyway, not sad to see him go. Sh*t attitude, spent more time rolling around on the ground, didn’t seem too fussed about playing for us (his love was clearly for the ssssnake!), and he couldn’t get a sniff for the last few months of season. Obviously has potential but my money says that no club will bid anywhere near 40m for him ever again. Hope Britos marks him...
Apparently he has already signed on, even though he is on 110k per week (wtf?????) Got to love them scousers, scallys to a man.
"Up to £40m" - so presumably some of that is in add-ons, which is consistent with what The Liverpool Echo reported the other day https://amp.theguardian.com/footbal...richarlison-watford?__twitter_impression=true
Good luck to the lad, he never did us any harm. As soon as the Everton fans discover he can’t hit a barn door with a combine harvester however I fear things will start going wrong, but that’s his problem now. Silva will have been sacked by then anyway. Madness them spending that sort of dough on him, sheer madness. Gino is a genius.
Where are people getting the info about the sell on clause? I mean a 40% sell on clause would just be bonkers from Everton’s point of view, we get the cash now and if he turns out to be a worldly we get the cash later too. Deal of the century if true.
Word is there is a massive shortage of 3 and 5 keys in Liverpool right now: they've all been worn out in the last 24hours.
Interestingly, there were a lot of people happy to believe the national media when they were quoting £50m
No arguments there We weren't going to be able to buy from Watford this summer without being mugged off At least it's not quite as severe as I feared (Happy to have the player though)
Let’s be honest - this deal was likely 75% done in the summer. No offence to TB9 but given your chairman and now manager’s personality, I’m sure Richarlison’s agent was ‘reached out’ to over the summer and I dare speculate that dear Rich came back after his summer holiday fully prepared and expectant of what was to come. Fair play to the lad, he’s young and see’s this as another step to the top. I still don’t believe it’s £40m max unless there’s an agreement that Moshiri will settle over Silva seperately and a figure has been agreed. Any early assumption that Everton have done well here are far too premature. The £50m reports didn’t just get plucked out of the sky. How it’s made up and in how many deals, we may never know. But I don’t say this to save face - I liked Rich and thought he would go on to be something we could be proud of. And I had high hopes for Silva before his personality came through. But make no mistake - when the dust settles, we’ve levelled the scores with Everton, however much they may claim we haven’t.
The next couple of years will tell who got the best deal but we didn't really have any option but to sell.
Sky haven’t even mentioned add ons and have just said the fee is around £40m. That could be up front or otherwise. So nobody has proved anything. I’d suggest you take your blue hat off for 2 minutes and read the stories in the Echo and see from an outsiders point of view just how heavily they are written through blue tinted glasses. The stories aren’t factual or even balanced.
Whether it's a good deal or not depends entirely on how it's re-invested. Imagine if we flung it all at Sam Vokes and Dzyuba
Undisclosed on the Watford web site, as they always are What was that **** about Watford briefing the press?
We've overpaid, absolutely, even if it's just the £40m that The Guardian and Telegraph are reporting Levelled the scores though? This is is no way meant to be argumentative, but Everton disrupted your season and ended up getting your manager for nothing (as far as we know to date), then they've come and bought one of your best players If I were a Watford fan, I don't think I'd feel like we were "even" just yet. But maybe that says more about me than anything else
I can't help but feel happy for the lad, he'll have done incredibly well out of this deal. I'm not expecting a standing ovation when he returns to the Vic, but I hope the reception is not negative either. We've also done brilliantly out of this deal, whatever the fee actually is. The only party taking a risk here is Everton, and no-one will know if it's been worth it any time soon.
Slightly more accurate report here, with the gist of it being £45m in order to make a round £30m profit (minus the 11.5m fee =33.5m, - 10% sell-on to Fluminense from the profit) https://globoesporte.globo.com/fute...s-e-assina-como-novo-reforco-do-everton.ghtml Translated: Toffes will spend 45 million pounds for the Brazilian striker, who becomes the most expensive player in the history of the club next to Sigurdsson. Richarlison is the new reinforcement of Everton. The Brazilian has passed the medical examinations and, completing the only bureaucracy that was missing, signed a contract valid for five years with the Toffes. The transfer of the Brazilian striker will be worth 45 million pounds fixed (which represents $ 222.9 million in the current price), which makes him the most expensive hiring in the history of the club alongside Icelandic Gylfi Sigurdsson. "I worked very well with him (Everton's new coach Marco Silva) while we were together at Watford. It was very good to work with him and one day I believe he can help me to be called to the Brazilian team. But this is for the future and my gift is here with Everton, "said Everton's new 30 shirt, which he completes. Fluminense also wins with the transfer Watford last season hired him for £ 11.5m (€ 57m) with Fluminense, who also benefited from trading between the two Premier League teams. After all, according to the agreement reached in the transfer a year ago, the Tricolor would have been entitled to 10% of the difference between what was paid and what could be received by the English team. Thus, Watford would gain 33.5 million pounds (R $ 166 million) with the player. Of that amount, 3.5 million pounds (R $ 17 million) would go to Fluminense. Amazing what £45m gets you these days.......................
I personally think this could be a good deal for both. We need to strengthen a few areas and this should easily give us sufficient funds. I actually hope he does well at Everton. He always gave 110%, but they will need to be patient with him, when he starts smashing the ball over the bar from close range.
Put it this way, the Richarlison I remember couldn't beat an egg let alone a full back and couldn't hit a cow's @rse with a banjo and a player who makes bad decisions because he's selfish in front of goal. I'm surprisingly not bothered about this transfer in the slightest. I would have put him at £20m tops based on his first season. I remember when we signed him, there was a Fluminense supporter who rated him higher than Gabriel Jesus, the start of the season I would have agreed, however Jesus is a superior player. Watch out for the mood swings.
Telegraph, Sky and Guardian have gone with a straight £40m Mirror say £40m plus Nobody has proved anything, nor will they prove anything as the clubs aren't officially revealing anything - all you can say is that from everyone other than the local paper saying it was up to £50m, now there's a number of national sources revising that figure down a bit Everton haven't suggested it's potentially a record transfer, so I'm guessing it isn't over £45m (which is our current record transfer), thats about as much as I'd be relatively confident to suggest
Agreed except the bit about "one of our best players". He was one of our best players for about 6 games. One of our players with the most potential, yes. One of our best players of last season, no. Anything above £25 million was far too much to pay.
A good deal but it’s not worth getting too ahead of ourselves. Still likely to be a £10-15m CF and a £10m CB on the list of targets. Regardless of how much is in the kitty, we can’t take a risk on the wages of a true £20m+ player. Good luck to Rich....I’ll happily clap him when he returns
