We’re Cat A, so Belmarsh. Seriously, we’re either wide left or wide right in the Rookery. Isn’t standing to watch football fantastic?
Also SEJ3, half way between the centre circle and Rookery. A few seats along from Mad Mary who alternates between making roll-ups and swigging from a bottle of absinthe. Think she might have once been Sannino's fitness coach.
Another SEJ occupier. So close to the TalkSport mob I could lean over and interupt/improve their reporting. You know you’re onto an atmosphere loser when you are one of only two people to cheer the team names being read out. Would sing but may be accused of split personality when I have to reply to my own “Give me a W....”.
You get a better view of detail but not so much of the big picture. What's happening off the ball? Whose running where, what does the formation look like, who's way out of position, where's the ball likely to go next? No parking issues, less expense, less atmosphere. Swings and roundabouts, but I'd never miss attending a home game or a really big away game if I can help it.
Have stood/sat in all stands in my time but mainly Rookery and Vic Road. Now I live so far away I have to sit where I can get tickets. Prefer the Rookery and last week behind the goal vs Brizzle. Soton I’ll be further up the Rookery between goal and SEJ stand. We’re going to win and will have my scarf for GT.
They are at the end nearest the half way line of the press rows nearest Vicarage Road. Adrian Durham does quite a number of shows from there. Guess it's convenience and you get the feeling the club treat them quite well. Certainly the Moose has been more complimentary of our food offerings of late!
If I read your description right, we are at the other end of that press box. Any idea who is in the one right at the back of the stand between the two press boxes?
Rookery lower front row if I can. Managed to get same seat past two and forthcoming fixture , when its far end I can't see much so watch on big screen but when games up close its electric If I can't get close to that I go upper gt or upper at the front at very end of aisle can usually go whole game not needing toilet so saves getting up every time someone needs out
That's a great seat! I used to be in QQ 82 (Cuthbert,Dibble,Grubb). You must be near Nick and err...forgotten his wife's name! Jenny!
One of my worst decisions to change. Nick and Jenny used to have a good sweet selection. I occasionally see them walking down Occupation Road.Nick always looks very nervous!
Last few games I've been in KK, Rookery, towards the SEJ stand as I had a former work friends ticket. As a student I don't have a season ticket, but tend to buy tickets for games I can make in the Rookery. Did once sit 3 rows in front of a teacher at my school, who overheard me imply the referee had the sight of David Blunkett and enjoyed some solo pleasure.
If you mean the space built into the back of the stand I think it is the ground PA. Have seen Emma Saunders there.
In the rookery, in the same seat I had from when we moved down there in 99/00 Row R, in between the 6yrd and edge of the penalty box. Great view, decent people around me, no reason to change
I will be walking down Occupation Road later today, and I expect that I will also be looking very nervous. After the game I will be looking elated, deflated, or in the case of a draw a little disenchanted.
