the view from the UGT is sensational compared to the rookery. I was up there for gillingham last year. Loved it.

SEJ stand right on the half way line ..

Good view but not great if you want a bit of atmosphere..

    SEJ stand.

Although sometimes this season I have been sat next to Silva in the dugout trying to read his mind about some of his emotions, watch flashings and formations. His better judgement generally sits in the office with the cone shaped hat on sporting a large D.

SEJ3 9th row up, between halfway line and Rookery about level with edge of centre circle.
For Bristol game got 14th row up and just slightly Rookery side of half way line. above left hand edge of dugout.
Excellent view but if you try joining in with the singing from the 1881, lots of people look at you as if you are a bit wierd.
    Perhaps this is the library.

My season ticket has me in the Rookery, front and centre. I tend to get my usual seat for cup games for the sake of consistency.

First half at the Vicarage Road end, then I walk down to stand on the bank by the Shrodells.

I may have missed a few more recent games.

I knew you were the same person.

You should meet for a half time drink as you are the only two in the family end so far.

No but I told Eddie Howe that he looked like a latex clad lego man (he pretended not to notice but I could tell from his eyes that he thought that wasn't a very nice thing to say to him at all) and stood so that Arsene Wenger was mildly inconvenienced and couldn't see the game for a couple of seconds when I popped to the loo.

To clarify I didn't defecate in front of Mr Wenger. I went down the stairs and obstructed him then went to the normal toilets.

The area where my wife and I sit in the Rookery (RS3) is populated almost entirely by season ticket holders who have sat in the same seats for years; some, like us, since the home end moved in 1999. We join in with the songs when the atmosphere picks up, usually sparked off by the 1881 although they're a way away. (We always sing at away games, by the way.) Unfortunately this only tends to happen in the bigger games when Watford are playing well. In games we're expected to win, e.g. Huddersfield, unless Watford get on top early it's all a bit flat.

What's the 'audience participation' like in the other areas of the ground where you all sit?

I have recently started going to games with my missus and she prefers the LGT she thinks you get a better view of the game there and I agree. I do miss the atmosphere in the Rookery at times but I do go to the away games with the lads so not too fussed.

Used to sit in the Lower GT when the old East stand was condemned by the Rookery corner flag and must admit you found it hard to see right up to the other corner on that side by the Family stand.

I know you wasnt asking this but overs the years ive watched games from..
    • North West Terrace
    • North East Terrace
    • Rookery Terrace
    • Away terrace at the Rookery (with a QPR mate.. for a laugh)
    • Shrodells paddock
    • 1922 Main Stand
    • 1969 Main stand extension
    • Vicarage Road Stand
    • Rookery Stand
    • Rous/GT Upper & Lower
    • SEJ Stand
    Ive always liked moving around!
Ive watched games from all fours sides prior to and after redevelopment. The only areas i didnt watch a game from in my time was the Main Stand paddock and the old Shrodells Stand itself.. which i regretted. Sometimes you'd watch games from different areas back in the day. For instance i saw the first part of our famous 8-0 win over Sunderland from the Rookery and for the latter part went up to the Vic Road terrace, when the exit gates opened (missing Blissett's hatrick goal in the process!)

I'm guessing many of our old timers on here would have a similar tale to tell.

Too right. Used to enjoy trying new parts of the ground. Scariest experience was sitting with some hyperactive kids in the front row the the Upper Rous. Never again.

All time favorite place was in the Rookery next to the away fans with smoke in the air, air horns and police dogs barking. That was an atmosphere all on its own.

So to push over that hoarding in celebration of the Mooney goal, you sprinted halfway down the touchline & then halfway across the pitch.

    Fair play!

There's probably nowhere I haven't stood or sat at some time or other. But, for a long time, now, UGT, halfway between centre and Rookery End. So I look down on most of you. But you knew that already. (Sigh...only joking). The view is pretty much the best. Various members of the family sit with me. There is a slight downside - at halftime and end of match we bump into all these corporate freebie prawn sandwich eaters walking in the opposite direction. I really don't like them. And to think we had to shift to accommodate them..
As some of you have reminisced as kids we would wait for coin toss to see which way we were kicking and go down that end. At half time we'd switch ends. Those were the days. Except for the football, of course.

    Over the years...

Standing: on the bend, the Rookery, the Shrodells paddock (shat myself when West Ham nearly succeeded in breaking down the chicken-wire fence that time!), NW Terrace once, for the 7-1 v Southampton. Season tickets stood behind the goal at the Vic Road end (before & after the scoreboard was installed) and a couple of matches in the old East/Main Stand (but don't like the sun in my eyes & have only sat in the SEJ once, to see what it was like). Oh and I sat once in that stupid little bank of seats to the right of the old main stand in the 90s. Not sure why!

Sitting: Season tickets at the Vic Road end when it was the home end, central Upper Rous (best view, before being shifted to make way for the posh seats), and the Lower Rous (haven't sat in that stand since it was renamed the GT Stand. UGT too expensive and LGT too low). For the last few years I've been sitting upper left of the Rookery. Considering moving within the Rookery next season as fed up with the loud, miserable and irritating Mr. 'Really/everyone's a fackin useless cant' in row U, seat 45 on the gangway. btw If that is you, please please please STFU!
