When managers moan about the referee playing on beyond the 4 minutes or whatever of injury time, I can never understand why the interviewer doesn't just point out that the rule isn't 'bang on 4 minutes', it's 'at least 4 minutes'. Likewise when they're interviewing a manager that claims on onside goal should have been given offside, or a foul wasn't a foul, why aren't they immediately ready with a replay that clearly shows the manager is wrong? It would save a lot of feeble excuses and make the interviews actually worth watching.
That's the second time in as many games that my stream froze just before the goal was scored It's so good to be enjoying the football again
Posts from WBA fans on their forum, lots of stick for Tony Pullis, fair amount of compliments for us! To be fair we were lucky to even get a point from that game though. Totally outplayed. They have a very good manager. Watford are a very good side, Tbh, Watford deserved that. I was very impressed with them. Depressing how much we relied on hoofball today. Yes, I'd have taken a point at half time. We looked a disorganized shower. Stuck in the carpark. gutted but like everyone else super impressed with Watford .thought they pissed all over us and we should have lost Commentators annoy me with the "Albion are difficult to break down and beat" line. 2 wins 5 draws and 9 defeats in the league suggests otherwise. Our passing seems to be getting worse week by week. Watford look a class above the tripe we're serving up. Similar budget to ours (lower wages as they couldn't afford Gibbs wages). They have an excellent progressive manager though.
When Pulis bitched about the extra minute of stoppage time, the interviewer should have pointed out to him that he had clearly instructed his team to timewaste since the first half.
I now have a mental picture of you at the end of the season, looking like a scarecrow wearing clothes unwashed for 9 months and sporting various items of lucky local foliage about your person. And it will be worth it if our form continues!
Well that's 5 points taken from 90th minute goals already this season. This shows a real desire within the side. Just as with Swansea last week, there were moments when Watford, and certainly last season's Watford, would have wilted. Swansea last week had Watford rocking but we bounced back to finish the game stronger. Again today, 0-2 down away, now you don't often come back from that situation and get something from the game. What's most impressive is the performances, especially away. So far at home, we've not really had the chance to play the way we've done away. Home fans must be scratching their heads and hoping "away Watford" will click at home. We've signed some very good players, and Richalison will already be on the radar for bigger sides. I think it's a case of enjoy him while we can. I'm also very impressed with Carrillo on the other side too. We do miss Chalobah but have still picked up 4 points from the two games without him. Again, we're not perfect. Kabasele was far too weak to allow Rondon to power past him. Poor marking from a corner too, which is something that has haunted Watford for a long time now. From what I've seen so far, we are the best of the rest and if we strengthen the defence in January we WILL finish in the top half. Even though it's a great feeling to pick up a point so late, it's probably two points dropped, as Watford were the better side overall.
While Mr IBB is wearing clean clothes but is a nervous wreck because his team has taken Derby's record (hopefully with 3 games to spare!)
Pulis upset the two footed lunge through the back of Richarlison clearly got the ball. And even more upset that one of his players wasnt part of the 10 behind the ball plan he'd utilised from 35 minutes. Also despite timewasting for 3 of the 4 minutes of stoppage time, the ref was dead wrong there too. Oh to not be a baggie.
Quick question fellows. I've seen a fair few WBA fans saying the foul on Richarlison that led to the equaliser shouldn't have been a foul and free kick. Is it true or are they wearing blue and white specs?
some others - "Thought Watford played some lovely football and deserved at least a draw. Wish we could play like that when we're away" "I was jealous watching Watford today. They have a cracking manager in Silva who wants to play the game the right way." "I haven't seen anyone give Watford the credit they deserved. To me they looked a very good side & if they continue to play like this for the rest of the season they will be challenging for a place in the top 7. In spite of the quality of their overall play Foster was rarely troubled although there were a few efforts just off target." Its nice to get some positive reviews from opposition supporters, even more so because the way we played deserved it. Makes a refreshing change after the previous two seasons in which we served up some dire stuff on the pitch at times,
Even if we had lost today I was so pleased how we played. Apart from two goals that we should not have conceded I thought we were superb. Richarlison goal was icing on cake but even if we had lost I would have walked away happy
Been painting a bedroom all afternoon and not in a good mood at 2 down... Loving the last minute goal again! Happy this evening Well done lads
McClean in fairness did touch the ball first... but he lunged in from behind Richarlison and did go through him. If you see the challenge back McClean wraps around Richarlisons legs. Imo it was a foul, yes he got the ball but he also made sure Richarlison wouldnt progress. If I was a baggie fan the thing I would find most annoying about it was that he didnt need to make the challenge in the first place. It was a stupid thing to do. And of course it not being a foul doesnt excuse 11 players completely leaving Richarlison unmarked from the resulting freekick
I like that Gomes went up for the free kick. Shows the determination of the team. Ill post these until somebody else gets a better picture:
Haven't had a chance to see a replay of McClean's foul for the free kick that lead to the goal. Part of me is really hoping it wasn't a foul. It would be the ultimate karma if that cheating dirty bstard was actually penalised for a fair tackle that gave us the goal. Gives me a warm glow just thinking about it
This team this season is the Ace Rimmer that Arnold J Rimmer last season could only dream of being. Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.
All done bar the touching up tomorrow. Managed to keep the paint mostly in the right place... I thought I was lucky I wasn't up the stepladder when the goal went in or the situation may have been different
Agreed. Loved that moment. Mazzarri last year would have kept 5 players on the half way line just in case they got a breakaway.
And Pulis thinks he deserved all three points hahaha. Lucky to get one. At least their fans are honest enough to admit they deserved nothing from the game today.
In the bottom picture, what do we think Silva is saying to Pulis? 1. You’re lucky the ref didn’t add all of the time you’re boys wasted. 2. If this was boxing, we’d have one on points. 3. Even your own fans hate you.
