Yes was tiny in it's original form.. http://i2.walesonline.co.uk/incoming/article8059317.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/16.jpg If you look closely you can see how it was then added to, firstly with wing additions and then with the forward roof section that was added in the 70's.. https://yourbluebirds.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/ninian-park.jpg
No idea.. but the bottom pic is obviously a speedway or dog track.. or both. I was thinking Springfield Park but as discussed they had a very short main stand there and i'm not sure Wigan Athletic played elsewhere prior. Just need to think of clubs that have played at oval stadiums. But then is it a current League club?
Top picture is their current ground, although looking a bit different, the oval ground did hold either greyhounds and/or speedway and the other amusements/ fun fair !!!
Ah then ive got it Thought it might have been a club that had moved into their current stadium in relatively modern times because the oval stadium pic didnt look that old but still appeared like it might have had a football pitch marked out. Here you go folks.. http://www.southendtimeline.com/southendgreyhoundtrack.htm PS But ive never seen Roots Hall looking like that.
That terrace was where the two tiered stand is now. Remember standing there for the FA Cup replay in 78/79 the others were Southend Stadium and The Kuursal.
The Kursaal has a very interesting history all of it's own.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kursaal_(amusement_park)
I can see why someone went for the manor ground. Same short main stand with a paddock, same angled corner stand and even a wall type thing at one end. http://www.footballgroundguide.com/old-grounds-and-stands/manor-lane-oxford-uinited-main-stand.jpg
Well done. Yes, not too far from me now! That low covered terrace is now the stand where the away fans were situated.
Not Gateshead. Its situated in an area that had a lot of mining before the pits all closed down. Much changed ground these days!
Nice. I was also there then. Remember giving a passer by in the road behind wearing a Forest shirt some grief....... next thing he was standing next to us.!
