Starting Eleven for our bounce back game providing Prodl is fit Gomes Janmaat Prodl Kabasele Holebas Doucoure Chalobah Carillo Pererya Richarlison Gray Surely Pereyra slots straight in given he will have another week of full training. He will get the best out of Gray and we could use Gray's speed in what could be an up and down game. Backing the Hornets for another victory to get back on track!
Good shout. The only possible change would be to find a place for Cleverley if Prodl is not fit, we need the midfield terrier to compliment Doucoure & Chalobah. Otherwise Holebas or Kabasele to make way.
We will still need a defence and would be surprised if Cleverly is dropped. Some risk of Gray making way for Deeney. Don't think Silva will be reckless. Pereyra will get on second half. Is this a game to rotate the keeper? Surely there is some understanding that this will happen - Gomes being 'rested' at some point.
Richarlison has already played a lot for a 20yr old in his first month in a new country, in a new league. I can see pereyra coming in, Richarlason on the bench, Cleverley in the middle If Gray doesn't find some form then Troy will start against WBA.
Okaka in for gray and I'd be happy with that. We need to be snotting sides like swansea to recover our goal difference after the suicidal performance on saturday. If gray starts it's 0-0 at best.
As the discussion has started, my poor attempt at a preview: It's been roughly a year since Watford's last game in Europe. Yet again the orns travel to the arse end of Wales to meet our opponents at the weekend, Swansea. I quite like Wales, well Cardiff anyway, the rest of Wales is fairly insignificant. Inhabitants tend to be cheery and seem to know how to brew and serve a decent pint. Just don’t wear an England rugby top and you’ll be OK. Club history / info For some reason I can't work out, the nickname for our Welsh friends is “The Swans”. There’s some intelligence at work far above that of my own with that one. The only similarity I can find between our two clubs is that Cyril the Swan (their mascot) followed the fine example set by our own Harry the Hornet, by making an honest woman/bird of his long-time partner, Cybil on their pitch. Harry will need to be careful as any over enthusiast antics may provoke Cyril. Swans are notoriously bad tempered and are able to break people’s arms. According to Wikipedia their ground is called The Liberty Stadium and it is home to both the Swans and the Ospreys. The name is confusing as far from being free, at one time, it was the most expensive construction project in Swansea. At a total cost of £27, it has since been surpassed with the rebuilding of WHSmiths in the Quadrant shopping centre. Circa 2016 Swansea Architecture Previously at their place 0-0. As my memory is not what it was I decided to rely on the good old Beeb match review for this bit. They used the term “insipid” for the first half. I needed to look this term up and then decided not to read further into the review. Do your own research. Meister’s predictions The Swans are up against the Mighty Reading in the Carawotsit cup. Having long since dismissed this competition as a waste of our time, we have a full week’s rest so I only expect half of our defence to be crocked. Andre Gray to play. Holebas to be booked. 1 or more of our defenders get injured. I expect refereeing to be fairly neutral as neither team are important enough to worry about by top brass. Likely score 0-0 Likely MOTD position - last Clothing tips for this week Since our excellent feature on putting socks on I thought this should become a regular.
Liked for the reference to swans breaking arms. It is well known and was oft drilled into me as a child. Good choice with shoe lacing. A vast subject which I have researched previously, well Googled anyway. Should provide an adequate detour from dull football talk. 2-0 to Gino's Calabrone.
We scored two worldies and had barely any "normal" chances.... We can't rely on blockbuster shots from outside the area and crap keepers every match.
We're still a relatively new team and it's not like we haven't created other chances in these games. Just need to start putting some away. We will tear someone a new one this year. Just not sure when. I'm going for a tight 2-1 away win. Gray and Chalobah.
Looking forward to this one, always fun to watch us win away. Gomes Janmaat Prodl Kabasele Holebas Doucoure Chalobah Carillo/Preyera Cleverly Richarlison Okaka
Good preview except the Ian knot won't work for us. It involves 'symmetrical wear and tear' according to said Ian and we know that never happens - WFC's arse end will always wear out quicker with 90% of defenders crocked after 3 games. We need a Gordian knot for our lot. Keep Cleverly in the team - he's undroppable at the moment. And Richarleson benched - then brought on for Pereya who replaces him in starting line up. I can't see Silva dropping Gray either. He will score soon. I expect a big reaction and a 2-1 win.
Gray vs Swansea back in March Swans wanted Gray http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-desperate-quest-goals-relegation-battle.html
Oh God, even the memory is truly excruciating. I hope the crowd gave them the bird. (Unless, of course, they consummated it on the pitch).
I'd go ----------------------Karnezis-------------------------- ----Femenia---Mapps---Kabasele---Holebas---- ------------Doucoure----------Chalobah-------------- ----Carrillo---------Pereyra--------Richarlison---- ----------------------Okaka------------------------------
I'm not so sure. This one is winnable and after last weekend (not really Gomes' Fault) I'm not so sure I want to risk a keeper change given our shaky defence. It might also dent Gomes' confidence. Next week maybe if we get 1 or 3 points against the Swans.
Really important game this one. Win and our "decent start" looks more like a "great start". Lose and we are below the Swans, Burnley, Huddersfield, and Newcastle, basically staring down the barrel with games running out. I'm going 1-1 with Gray to break his duck.
It's so important to get him or Kaboul back into the team but there's very little news about his recovery. Really need a dominant leader in the middle at the back. ps Not a chance that they will drop Cleverley away from home, so the only way Perreyra will start would be pushing Richard Lee's son to the bench.
Pereyra will be brought up to speed slowly as he has been out a long time. Against Liverpool he would have been given 60 mins I think but didn't last. This time from the bench he was given 30 mins so this coming week I would expect the same.
I say lash him straight in from the start. If gray cant score with the holy trinity of pey, rich and car behind him then I think the last few stragglers will finally be jumping on the hate train. CHOO CHOO! Non-stop to BOOville.
People who are hoping for Okaka to start I think will be waiting a long time. I’d say it’s obvious by now that Silva doesn’t rate him. Can see Deeney and Pereyra coming in for Gray and Richarlison personally.
Gomes Femenía Prodl Kabasele Holebas Doucouré Chalobah Carrillo Cleverley Ricahrlison Gray The same team as Southampton away except Prodl for Kaboul if SP is fit. We have been magnificent on the road so far this season and I don't think we need to change too much. Best of easing Pereyra back into action bringing him off the bench for last half n hour and bringing Troy on as well late on.
