Redmond always plays a blinder and scores against us. It's just one of those fixed constants in the universe.
Both on their day are great, but I suspect neither work hard defensively hence the negative views. Last season away Redmond was superb as was Tadic at our place. But yes neither seem to do it week in out. lets hope this is a week out. As for Long (some mentioned him) He works hard but doesn't over a season score enough goals (again watch him notch tomorrow, but over a season will be nowhere near double figures). Gabbiadini is the one for me we have watch and fear. His movement is very clever and dosen't miss to many chances. Will also be interesting if Van Dyke is in the squad and what effect he will have on their team and fans. He cant be happy at not being allowed to leave to play champions league football.
I'm fed up with this football analysis malarkey on the matchday thread. Can't we get back to something interesting like grass or kitchens?
Van Dyke's out with a hamstring strain. Here's a photo of when it happened. https://image.ibb.co/nQbKTa/****_van_dyke_mary_poppins.jpg
Lawro/Merse think we will lose (so probably win!) The former came up with this gem: "We are seeing again what a good manager Marco Silva is - at this rate he might even last more than a season in charge of Watford - or at least get to Christmas anyway" I seem to remember our last managers lasted till the end of the season.....not sure what the last comment is all about then!
Preparing myself for the first loss of the season. No reason why we can't beat them but think we will lose 1-0. I would be happy to come away with a point from this game.
I get why people are apprehensive about going to Southampton, as they always seem to spank us. But we've never gone there with the pace of this team and the tactical nous of Silva before. I can only see a nice win for the gloryhornetboys.
When have they spanked us ? Without looking up results I seem to recall we have a very good record at their place. The loss 2 seasons ago was one of the exceptions. Looking forward to this one as it's quite a social event for the Southern Counties Hornets.
Thank feck we get proper football back...international breaks are the longest dullest 2 weeks ever. COYHs
Has Gomes done anything to see him dropped? I think Gomes will start as Karnezis has been on international duty.
The 1-1 last season they battered us second half (even before Watson getting sent off), and the 2-0 loss in our first season in the PL was incredibly one-sided to the point of them holding our hand and making us hit ourselves in the face whilst asking 'why are you hitting yourself?' But glancing through that teamsheet ours included Anya, Jurado, Nyom and Ibarbo whilst they had Van Dijk, Mane, Long and Tadic. Plus Liverpool trounced us 6-1, and they're basically Southampton.
I think , this game could be close and quite a few goals . Let me try and predict , I'm going for a 3-2 away win to us . 1-2 at half time goals from Richarlison and Chalobah. Second half Deeny penalty late on . Can't say who's going to score for them though , mistic megg hasn't got that bit .
What the **** is going on with Okaka? Plays like a monster on the first day, gives the Liverpool defense a horrible time then proceeds to disappear off the face of the earth. Still remains our only striker to score and ever look likely to score.
Team: Gomes (C); Femenía, Kaboul, Kabasele, Holebas; Chalobah, Doucouré; Carrillo, Cleverley, Richarlison; Gray Subs: Karnezis (GK), Mariappa, Janmaat, Watson, Capoue, Success, Deeney
I'll go for 0-2 at half time Then Gray scores, then Richarlison, then, in injury time Kabasele gets a blinder COYFH!!
