Michele Criscitello of Sportitalia suggesting we are in for Iturbe."Inserting Watford for iturbe . But Genoa is on pole. Sabatini meeting well in milan." A lot of reports emerging in Italy based on this. Apparently (scrolling through twitter search of 'Iturbe watford') the Pozzos have long admired him and tried to sign him for us back in 2013. Reports in England in the last week have been linking him with West Ham/Everton instead at a price of £13m, however. Would much rather this than Elvis Manu!
We'll sign him and either not play him or just play him out of position. All joking aside, he looks like he's got something about him, diminutive but sharp and pacey, low centre of gravity and actually likes to carry the ball with a purpose, unlike some of our wingers.
We have to accept we have absolutely no back up for TD at all in a 4-2-3-1. If he is injured, loses form, suspended etc not sure what we do. We have about 87 players who can play in the 3 behind.
He is known for being selfish in Roma and shooting everytime, but nonetheless, I'd love him here. As you say, he has far more quality than Manu. Don't see it happening though, unless we stump up 10million plus.
He is far less selfish than he used to be certainly when he burst onto the scene with Argentina u20, a short stint in Paraguay and was improved by his time with River Plate. Started last season very well for Roma before injury and really shone with Verona. Very decent set piece take, has real pace and great dribbling ability. Can play from deep, off the main striker or out on both wings.
It's a known fact that the Pozzos explored the idea of trying to get him to us before he went to Hellas Verona and had his breakout season, would be an incredible signing; he didn't earn a move to Roma for nothing. As Miked said though, would be very surprised if he came at anything like the right price for the Pozzos to invest in for us.
Loan deal with an option to buy next season (and it would be very affordable then plus the PL is getting more and more coverage in South America) ?
Hey, if they could pull that off then fantastic, I'd absolutely love it, but I do wonder whether that would interest his current employers.
Think your looking at old reports...Italian media reporting that Genoa are now looking at Suso as they are less confident on Iturbe. http://www.pianetamilan.it/2015/08/27/di-marzio-suso-al-genoa-se-iturbe-resta-a-roma/
Oh, I got it from the WD Sport site just now which has a twitter post from a guy who looks like he runs AsRomaPress. Think it's an American Roma news site or something. I don't know what's going on then!
He's the type of player Nando should be. Luckily see him live. Not his most productive game but always positive.
Just reflects the status of the two places. Our Colosseum is newer than theirs and has comfier seats.
WDSport made a similar comment this morning. It didn't strike me as being an unsubtle hint, but you never know....they might know something.
This rumour is circulating again. app.football-italia.net/?referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.football-italia.net%2F76980%2Fwatford-swap-iturbe-ibarbo#article/footballitalia-76980 From www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esc...rd-in-pressing-su-iturbe-la-situazione-765801
Busy little fella. A bit like someone took Fessi and Battochio and compressed them together. More than capable of replacing Ibarbo's contribution, but then so am I.
Ibarbo... Iturbe... Ighalo I can't be the only one saying them in this voice? :
Looks like we might be returning our iBarbo to The Apple Store & upgrading to an iTurbe... http://www.football-italia.net/76980/watford-swap-iturbe-ibarbo
