perhaps watford are holding out for a bidding war with a newly monied and striker-stricken bolton. or perhaps that was just me completely making up speculation. its easy!

    Hi Watford fans.

Fulham fan here. Just wondering if you had any idea who the player we've offered in exchange for King is. I hope it's Collins John or Chris Baird.

    Welcome aboard.

Have no idea but I hope to GT you're wrong about those two.

As per the general evaluation of King here - the player in question has to be worth at least 3.5 mio for us to be likely takers.

Personally - I think Collins John can FOOK OFF - he didn't want to come when he had the chance - too bad, may he rot in your reserves.

Chris Baird to me is a CCC footballer at best and I want us signing premiership quality players.

If you look at what we need - a left back, a left wing or a holding midfielder. So look at your squad and tell us who fits that bill.

Would love to take Cookie just to **** off Cookaranger, a QPR fan who visits here on the odd occasion.

At least 3.5m sounds fair for a player who can score goals at Premiership level.

Personally think you could do a lot worse than Collins though - he may be lazy and have difficulties with the offside rule, but he has scored goals at Premiership level and a few seasons ago was our top scorer even though he was coming off the bench most games; and he's still only 21. Baird has been an embarassment this season but in fairness I dont think right back is his favoured position.

We only have two left backs in our squad - Paul Konchesky and Nathan Ashton. Can't see either leaving tbh. Our left wingers are Bouazza (why didnt you tell us he has a glass shoulder?!) and Cook, and I'm not sure if Lee Cook isn't just a myth. And holding midfield is a position we desperately need to strengthen as well, all we've got there is Smertin.

Never knew you loaned Baird; we don't think much of him either!

Coming on this board I just remembered the match at Vicarage Road last season, what a crazy evening that was. Summed up all that is good and bad about Fulham!

From what you're saying I conclude it has to be Collins John whom Aidy would love and most fans would hate. I still don't think the total adds up. He's a year older than last time AND with no extra experience.. and the price has gone up? Naah.

Lazy and offside? We already have Tamas Priskin who has both of those qualities.

Re Baird, Right back is not a position we need to fill

Also every Watford supporter I know HATES Collins "I'm too good for Watford" John with a passion.

    This is a dead deal.

We need a new LB and defensive mid.

Colllins John is no replacement for King regardless of his ******, big time charlie attitude or his lazy play, and Baird is **** and not a LB or DM.

We have big enough squad as it is.

marlon aint going nowhere fulham are the only club who have shown intrest and have also made 2 offers so lets look at the facts if fulham really want marlon they are going to have to at least double there original bid that aint going to happen as fayed has allready spent millions at the start of the season only to see his team where they are now and he is not stupid,
do you really think that Marlon is going to go to a club like fulham when they are on the way down, if his agent has any sense he will be telling him stay at watford who are near the top of there league and your talent is standing out as there best player and let there good season add to your value at the end of the season or wait for a bigger club come in with a bigger bid, unless that happens he will see the season out at least.
my version is that I am sure that he has fell out with someone possibly Aidy and also his form and the teams is having a strain on him lets hope I am right.

why is this thread called "fulham make king bid" it should read "guy with dodgy wig who has been training eskimos for the last few years turns up to a 2 bob football team sinking into the thames and phones up local supplier of unhappy greedy get me out of here I want loads of money players and insults them"
I know its a bit long but its nearer the truth then "BIDS".

Why do we need a defensive midfielder, if all our ucking defensive problems are Jordan STEWARTS DOING. SURELY WE NEED AN UCKING MIDFIELDER, WHO CAN PASS THE BALL, HOLD THE BALL AND HAS VISION FOR THE OTHER CANUTS ON THE PITCH WHO MAKE TIMELY RUNS INTO SPACE.

Our problem is all in midfield - we need to go 4-5-1. Our midfield is shyte and makes the rest of the team look inept. It maybe that its not shyte but just simply UNDERMANNED.

whoops cap lock went on through all that - sit down shut up, sit down shut up.

    U ammerssssssssssssssssssssssss

Like PYA said, it's not ucking (;)) rocket-science.

Get rid of Stewart - the *****st fullback ever to grace the turf of Vicarage Road. Bring in someone on-loan who can defend.

Bring inn someone with some brains in midfield.

From today's BBC sport site, more reliable than many.....

King will not go, says Boothroyd
    Marlon King
King is a key player for Watford
Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd has insisted that striker Marlon King will not be sold.

The Hornets rejected a £4m bid from Premier League strugglers Fulham for King, who produced a subdued peformance in Watford's 1-0 defeat at Preston.

Boothroyd said: "We don't need to sell - especially to a club who we might be changing places with.

"I want him to stay so he stays. That's it. I don't need any money so there is no fee for Marlon."

King missed most of last season through injury and was badly missed by Boothroyd's side as they were relegated from the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has scored 11 goals this term and with Watford attempting to get back into the top flight, Boothroyd has no intentuon of letting him leave.

Boothroyd added: "In order for a player to move I've got to want him to go, the player has got to want to leave, the money has got to be right and there has got to be a replacement.

"None of those four criteria are being met."

    I'm happy with that.

We're after Eddie Johnson now, so imagine we'll be dropping our interest in King.
