Collins John then? Oooooooooh cant bloody wait... and people go on about how Hameur wouldnt be the same player if we made him stay

Why on earth would we want a player who was forced to join us (if thats what you are saying!)

Not what I meant to say - that's for sure.

    I meant to say this:

If the offer is part cash and part player AND the player is unaware - because the club does not want to let him know they are trying to flogg him - then an undisclosed offer would be prudent - because, should we say no, the player offered is none the wiser and will continue at full steam.

If the player was told - hey, we're offering you as part of the Hammer-time payment, and Watford says no - then the player will be disgruntled and the club be in a fix.

    Absolutley agree!

Why on earth would we want another sulky troubled player!!!??

No doubting Collins John is a good player, I just can't see him wanting to join and if he did join I can't see him being a team player! Certainly doesn't fit Aidy's criteria of 'hungry'!

Would rather take the cash for Bouazza and replace him with someone like Brunt.

I reckon the reason that the bid is undisclosed is that with Pompey, Derby, Spammers, and Fulham in the frame - the club are conducting an auction.

Aidy is seeking bids from all comers to reach his £5 million valuation.

His wording is very telling `these things happen and we have just got to move on`.

Boozers `toast` unlikely to play another game for the club.

PS. As Mr Brunt has a 3 match ban at the moment he might be cheap.:)

I understand what you said... you missed MY point.

If they were setting up the player behind his back (as you say) then the player would STILL be disgruntled and WE would be the club in a fix (ie in receipt of a player that has no desire to play for us)

(reminds me a little of Steve Kabba)

I get your point (now). The thing is - as long as it's not Collins John (God I hope it isn't) - who's to say the don't want to be here. In fact, a part cash part player deal could possibly attract us players we otherwise would not get. I'll wait and see if this comes to anything but my point was simply that there may be a reason for the offer being undisclosed other than the offer being less than 5 mio.

    Correct!

Move on people, he's going and he aint worth £5,000,000!!!!

Heidar left and we went up, lucky omen? Time will tell!

McAnuff is a FAR better player than HB anyway IMO.

We need a left back, it sadly won't be Robbo...hopefully Aidy can snap up a loan signing from a big premiership club, or possibly he'll throw Parkes in at the deep end!

Be annoyed if we sell Bouazza for less than the 5 million Aidy asked for!

I agree Bouazza isn't worth that much but Aidy did say that is what he is hoping for..mind you he does say a lot things that don't actually happen.

Part of his learning I guess as a manager...not to say things that can only lead to you looking silly.

The point is not we have got more than he is worth.

The point is we have lost a player who is progressing and scoring goals for us - and one of the few with pace and flair. So in 6-odd months, we have let both our players with pace and flair go (Ash).

Good one. Shows real ambition that.

I'm not saying that one of our (many) midfield options, or Jobi or even Macca won't come through and score a lot of goals for us instead.

I am saying we are getting into a habit of selling our talent without any proven backup.

Proven within OUR team that is...!

I think by putting it on the Offical site shows that he has gone.

They kept Henderson bid under cover until they accpeted it but this time they tell us straight away and i doubt that it actually the offical site being good with their job and keeping us upto date.

Had an interesting lunch today with someone who works at the Emirates who said Boozer might end up there with a season long loan back as part of the deal. Possibly that is why the club are being quiet until things are finalised.

No mate, i agree he is gone - have slapped a load of v orns, at 2/1 it is a decet flutter. Would like him to stay, but really he wants premeirship footie and the club are trying IMo to get as much as possible, hence the silly money statement - for a player that we were saying could leave once he went on loan to swindon, anything over 4 million really aint bad, I told Gs though that he is only worth flogging for 5 million otherwise we should keep him, problem being the player wants premiership footie and if clubs are interested and lay down an offer in the millions, then we don't accept, the player will be disgruntled. seeing as people are saying that IFS are an important factor in the season ( as posted on a thread) - what if Hammer doesn't produce for us, we have lost out on 4 million+ and people will be saying we should have flogged him. The club are in a no win situation either way. Hammer was a bronze ring a year ago, now he is deemed a crown jewel - truth is we don't have any crown jewels at watford, every player is replaceable.
