Does anyone on these forums make their own music? There must be some, and it would be good to hear some of it.

EDIT: I've just realised that it's very possible there's already been a thread covering this, and I've just jumped right in without searching... Sorry if there is already one. Point me in the right direction if that's the case, won't you? Cheers!

i do indeed singer songwriter stuff which can be found here www.myspace.com/nickcorre
Hoping to finish my ep in the next month or so. Theres only one studio quality track, somewhere in the dark, the rest are home studio recordings so obviously not as good quality but would appreciate any feedback and would love to hear if anyone else on here does make their own music.

Pyro - Nice one. I'll listen to your stuff at some point, listening to a long mix at the mo though. Are you going to actually get your EP sold etc?

Don - Old news. But charming as always.

MySpace has changed their layout. When did that happen?

Also, my music is at the soundcloud address in my signature. It's electronic music. If anyone has any comments, or if anyone's interested in that kind of music, let me know.

Kieran - just listened to 'Borrowed Mash'. Not bad at all mate.

I've dabbled with making music in the past but nothing serious has ever come out of it, and thus, has never been recorded.

im playing little gigs here and there and trying to make my mark on a small scale ep will still be low budget self produced but just so that ive got something to show as an idea of what i could sound like with production value and to have something to sell at the little gigs im playing

Cheers warehouse! You should follow up your dabbles. It's always good to hear new music from people that are doing it purely because they enjoy it.

I'm currently working on the 'how to get your music out there' thing. Also wanting to DJ but when you know nobody putting on nights or whatever, it's difficult. Any tip appreciated.

Listening to your stuff, pyro. They all sound very well-written and thought out. You've got a good voice too. Sounds like you're going the right way too, with playing live and so on. Make sure you keep it up and you'll soon build up a fanbase if you haven't already.

I used to DJ a bit in Milton Keynes and Northampton when I started university there, other than that I just made mixtapes and mash up.

I was a resident in Area for 6 months too when I was 18.

I mostly played Minimal and Progressive Trance, Electro House and Dirty House. Ocassionally grime, breakbeat and bassline too.

I've done a bit of dj stuff around Watford. I also got the chance to hit the decks at Karbon in Glasgow.

Never really have time due to work but I do a bit of mixtape stuff like Prentice.

Really enjoying your stuff, nak. Where do you get your brass samples from? They're really clean and stuff, that's why I ask.

The Puzzle sounds like it would be perfect with someone rapping over it or something.

Some great stuff, man. Listened to it all now. Really enjoyed it. Do you ever play this music in places? I mean live, or live-ish, if you know what I mean. If you've got a control surface, etc, to do that.

Keep it up. Following you on soundcloud now, and have liked the facebook page.

Prentice and Axwell, have you got any mixes online at all? I'm not usually into trancey stuff to be honest, but into grime and breaks, which you mentioned.

I'm learning my trade DJ-wise, and play bassy stuff. Good dubstep, UK garage, some house and stuff too. Got a few mixes at mixcloud.com/kierancallanan , but only the most recent one is advisable to listen to I'd say, but t does go pretty wonkaloid at one point. Other than that it's not bad really. Only been doing it just over a month so there's more to come on that front.

Ah, I do a bit of UK Garage but got nothing online.

I haven't done it in quite a while and anything I do now is just out of boredom and spontaneous, so not recorded.

When I was really enjoying it I produced a remode of Fedde le Grand and it got whored out in Batchwood for a couple of years, that's probably the highest I got.

Cool. Sounds good on the Fedde front. It's not really my type of thing to be honest though. Big club music and whatnot tends to not really get me in any real mood to dance. Don't know what it is, just never seen eye to eye with it.

Oh, mine was a bassline remix. :)

I might have some old stuff at home, I'll have a look later

    Thanks for the support Kieran.

Where did I get the brass? not telling ;)

The Puzzle was actually made in mind of having a rapper on it, hence it's repetition but in the end I decided to post it as an instrumental. I do want to do a collaboration with a rapper eventually though.

I don't do any live performances as all my stuff is made electronically so it would just end up with me pressing play on a laptop and not doing anything else lol, I also don't have enough of my own material to actually perform a gig of just my own music.

I'll listen to your stuff later. :)

If you don't have anyone in mind, my best mate is a rapper so I could send anything of yours onto him to have a look at if you wanted.

Yeah sure, can any of his rapping be heard online? If so, then send me a link and I'll give it a listen. Obivously I would want to hear if he's any good before hand lol.

Sure, his name is LnC, he's won a fair few Jumpoff Championships and here's his myspace. Not sure how often he updates, other links are there too, fb, youtube etc.

Hmmm, not bad. He's obviously a good rapper but in terms of suiting my style, I'm not so sure.

Kieran, I'm finally listening to your music.

Borrowed Mash is an interesting track, it's kind of an Ambient tune but with a Hip-Hop beat. Creates an interesting combination, nice track.

I'm not really a fan of Dubstep so it would be unfair to comment on those tracks because I don't really know enough about it or paticularly enjoy the genre.

    Quite nice overall though.

Thanks for listening man. Really appreciated. I'd say only a few of them are dubstep, per se. I think dubstep's been misrepresented by the stuff that's sort of got big recently. I for one absolutely hate so much dubstep. Caspa and the wobble brigade. All that aggressive, mid wobble crap. You must know the type. It's awful. Uninventive. Eurgh. The dubstep I listen to and buy is great. It's forward thinking, and the only thing that makes it all under that one term is probably the tempo and some level of sub bass. People like Pinch, Zomby, LV, Joe. List goes on. Like I say though, not all of my stuff's at that tempo, and I'd say I'm more influenced by the LA hip hop and electronic scene than dubstep in my own music. Flying Lotus, Samiyam, Gaslamp Killer, etc etc.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. A lot of the dubstep I hear is truly awful although sometimes I'll hear a track that I like and someone will say 'That's dubstep' and I'll be a bit confused so there are some 'dubstep' tracks I suppose I like. I don't mind the likes of Flying Lotus, I haven't listened to a great deal of his stuff but he's one of those artists that I have ready to listen to eventually.

Anyone on here got Last.FM? If so, add me:

For some reason I can't edit my post to add this in, maybe its too old.

Anyways I thought I would use the dormant upload button on my youtube account and put a couple of videos of me playing up.

Sorry to bump and old thread, I meant to do it last week but I had essays due. I still do in fact, should probably stop looking at the internet.

Bumping a REALLY old thread here, but I use a totally different soundcloud now and I'm also in the mood for listening to anything. Would be cool to hear anyone else's music.

The new soundcloud is www.soundcloud.com/horushere - I've got a couple of mixes up there too. Let me know what you think. A lot of it is music meant for dancing to, so bear that in mind.

Anyway, anyone miss this the first time around and want to post links to their music?

V Good, one to learn to improve your picking is an old Blue Grass classic. Called Under The Double Eagle.

It is very quick but once you have the walking bass notes perfected it blends in perfectly with the solo on the top 3 strings.
