Sexism. I found out this morning, much to my chagrin, I am sexist. This is what happened. My son had a bowl of Kellog's Frosties for breakfast. I don't usually eat breakfast let alone cereal but this morning I did with him. When I was young I used to read the cereal box while I was eating my cereals. This morning I did just the same. Here is a bit of what I read: Nutrition at a Glance Guideline Daily Amounts, or GDAs are a simple way to learn more about the amounts of calories and nutrients recommended to be eaten every day. The counter shows you what's in a serve of Kellog's cereal and the percentage (%) it contributes to your daily diet. The figures are based on an adult woman's diet of 2000 calories a day. So while I was mind numbingly munching on some Kellog's Frosties and equally numbingly reading the side of the box I sat up with a jolt (ok no I didn't really I was just a bit surprised) to see an adult woman's intake rather than a man's. My point is why was I so surprised? I so know I am not sexist...I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body ffs... so why the shock horror at seeing a woman's calorific intake. Further to this I happened upon this article that proves Disney is also sexist: The faces of 16 leading male characters in Disney films. Pretty diverse right? This is their face shape in pencil form Now....look at leading Disney female characters and their facial outline (all round faces and tiny button noses) There is not a Disney film I haven't in some way melted towards the lead female character but now I know I have been well and truly outed as a sexist.
Don't worry, I've been told I was a racist today. It's fine, I went out and bought a bag of jelly babies and ate them all, including the black ones. I treat everyone equally.
Fear not PO, I suspect all blokes are closet sexists, all women too. All heteros closet homophobes. We are all racists and I expect most Jews are slt anti Semites.....it's the way of the world. I certainly tick all of the above boxes to a degree, just keep it to myself(until now)
