Haha no it is not. I've been told it is an activity full of cougars and MILFs, as well as keeping you fit.
Have never heard anything but positivity around yoga. I tried it a few years ago, but didn't keep it up - probably because i was not in a group or anything and I'm pretty lazy at the best of times. An old school teacher of mine once spoke of how he couldn't do any aerobic exercise for something like a year due to some injury or health problem, so he took up yoga. When he was able to go running and so on again he actually felt aerobically fitter despite having not done any of that type of exercise for so long. Definitely something in it. I should really try taking it up again. Good luck.
Do a version of it without all the meditation nonsense and more concentrated on fitness and strength, like I do.
Totally agree with this. There are quite a few places that do more modern yoga. Even a combination of Yoga/Pilates/Tai Chi Spoke with a guy once who had run marathons most his life. Had to give running up and took up yoga. He said he felt better and fitter from the yoga than he had at any stage of his marathon days. It's also quite an experience sweating from basically breathing and stretching and the (milf/cougar) scenery tends to make it even more worth while too!
This is the real reason Dom is starting classes.... NSFW:
Was going to start a new thread, then saw this. Yoga = fab; my wife and I tried hot yoga while on holiday in Australia last year and were hooked. We're now regulars at the Fierce Grace place near us in KT (http://www.fiercegrace.com/). Builds strength, balance & flexibility and really helps develop a good posture.
I used to run loads, but now I've had to lay off the high intensity exercises for almost a year because of a muscular problem. I've dabbled with yoga in that time and quite enjoy it. Being a young english man in a room full of middle aged Brazilian women has its perks
Meditation nonsense? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/30/meditation-health-benefits_n_3178731.html works for me but each to their own I guess.
