I've just had a very long, unsettling phone call with the local plod. They were asking permission to interview (if required) my 15 year old daughter as one of her schoolfriends has been raped by her father...
I hope for everone's sakes that this is just her kicking off because he wouldn't get her the latest iPhone. Right minded people just can't comprehend the alternative and stuff like this wrecks lives. I think it's probably best we refrain from comment further as it's a hugely serious allegation but I hope all goes well with the investigation and as little trauma as possible is caused to all.
Unfortunately not. The cops have asked me to be ready to accompany my daughter to the station at short notice because if they need to interview her, it has to be in the presence of her parent. Can I just reiterate and clarify that I've been accused of nothing: it's the other girl's own "father" (I can think of more choice descriptions).
Careful chap. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Of course if guilty he should be fed to the wolves.
