Load of tosh or just a good bit of mindless fun to turn your brain off and way h? I enjoy it TBH. I know it's fake and scripted. But I like a bit if mindless violence. And MOST of the women are very sexy too! Just saw HUlk HOgans show here in Melbourne. It was pretty pants. He's so bloody old now!

Not since the days of WCW has wrestling really been worth watching.

    I beg to differ.

Its been total bollox for many years now but I bloody loved it in the days of The Rock and Stone Cold. DX as well, and the FIRST DX, not this 2 man DX which they bought back to probably sell merchandise.

Mindless entertainment for me. It's a laugh especially when they make mistakes but some of the aerial athletics they do is amazing. WWE is losing it though, I think TNA on Bravo is better these days.

I still occasionally watch it, I'm fully aware it's scripted yada yada yada but it can be a laugh. It was definitely better during the 'Attitude' era.

I used to like it as it had elements of theatre, athleticism, stunt choreography, acting, showmanship etc. In recent years, however, the McMahon ego has washed everything away and it's lost it's spark.

The WCW/WWE wars of the 90s sparked the best era in both, as each brand competed hard to win ratings. Since WWE has effectively taken a monopoly though, all the creativity has gone and all you see are the same old feuds being dragged on and on in an effort to promote the next PPV.

Also the deaths of so many of the greats at such a young age over the last few years illustrates just how the wrestlers are used and thrown out like tissues by the promoters and owners. These people are pumped with chemicals to keep their body on show 52 weeks a year (even a professional body builder will only be in season during competition times and will flab out a bit when not posing). With the Montreal Screw Job, The Clique and other behind the scenese politicking, it's not hard to see how many wrestlers became disillusioned with the whole thing.

Nowadays I'm not allowed to watch it anyway :(

I had that too when i was living with my missus!
but now i'm single i can watch it again. i agree with u that the Mcmahon ego is starting to ruin WWE and with him refusing to push certain stars, such as Chrsitian into the Limelight and still keeping Cena as champ to please the 8 year old kids. The main demographic for wrestling audiences is the 18-30 year old male and wwe have lost their edge.
i have been watching TNA recently and they have got a couple of the best wrestlers around- Kurt Angle and AJ styles.
Hulk Hogan is signing for them when he's back from Oz so that will only serve to boost their popularity.
nothing will be the monday night wars of the 90's but this may come close

I've hated it always, from the days of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks on a Saturday afternoon in the 70's to the soap opera type stuff they do now. I honestly don't understand why anyone gives it a minute of their time, can you not see what I see?

Wrestling is pre-determined showmanship loosley dressed up as entertainment. It is not sport....

Just look around the crowd at the next clip of a WWE (or whatever it's called now) event and you'll clearly see the calibre of people it attracts...

UFC is starting to become rigged I hear, Leighton?

According to a mate who watches it all the time, there was a fight between Macheda and Shogun I think and one of them battered the f**k out of the other one and when it came to points the guy who got battered won..?

Also hearing that something dodgy is going on with brock lesnar and hes not really ill but UFC are saying he is.

Don't know a thing about it but I hear it all the time from a mate.

    TNA isn't too bad really.

Its on Bravo 2 I think so its free, I watch it sometimes when I'm at home. Its quite nice to bum out and watch something that doesn't trouble the grey cells in any way, shape or form.

They had some old TNA things from when it started in 2002 or 2003, and the first match was really good. Regardless of it being fake, they must have been bruised to nothing the next morning. Proper athletic stuff.

There was a judge betting scandal reported, but whether that impacts on the whole genre I don't know.

TBH I don't care if it's rigged or not, stick it on sky+ fast forward through the ads and the boring bits and you get about 30 mins of entertainment.

TNA is getting the better ratings than WWE in the UK at the moment but they may be due to airing on Bravo & Virgin 1 temporarily rather than Sky Sports. I seem to fastforward through it less than WWE.

I have actually seen a WWF as it was then house show at the NEC and did pop in to watch TNA last time I was in Orlando. If you're at Universal studios on the right day it's free to go and watch as long as you don't mind queing up for an hour or so.

Hmm , i wouldnt agree with that fella to be honest , BUT saying that macheda DID lose to shogun but somehow got the decision...the UFC do work fights to come about the way they want them to , commercially like...dan hardy aint up there but being a brit , being reasonably good means he`s been fast tracked to face GSP but in reality he should be 4th or 5th down the list but the potential market here is that big that Hardy is being pushed hard , it was Bisping but he got sparked proper by dan henderson who with all respect is now a journeyman...so Bisping aint the man they hoped he would be....

And above all , it`s real........and grown men shouldnt be watching actors with big muscles and little pants throw each other about..

Would most probs start watching UFC if I had ESPN. Haven't watched WWE in many years and don't watch TNA.

Well said. Its just pantomime for me. But what annoys me the most is when they have it on Sky Sports. Lastly and most importantly it gives the real wrestlers and sport a bad name.

baroni ran out of puff , and his technique was poor , he`s all muscled up but i think he could do with some power in them fists.....

amir is strongest on his muay thai , and it happened to be the best way to figh a swinger , grab onto him knee him countless times , wait till hes knackered and then , err , beat him up , quality

Isn't that the old guy with the dodgy fake tan?

Sky sent me a letter today saying they will give me ESPN half price for 3 months so will give UFC a shot and see if I get into it.
