The Guardian article is a bit 'meh' (Don’t celebrate the prospect of the Tories in opposition – that’s the real danger zone) but the academic article it's linked to (An anatomy of the British war on woke) makes very interesting reading. For interesting there's a brief history of the 'War on Woke' from the backlash against 'PC' (as an aside I *think* they missed the 'Looney Left' out) to the current rag-bag of Brexiteers, 'free-thinkers' denouncers of 'Cultural Marxism' and, the current bugbear, opponents of CRT. The authors highlight the 'Campaign Groups' (all opaquely funded)fighting the fight: And note when talking about the think tanks (charities) the authors note: And identify the principal outlets for their 'outpourings': But it gets really interesting when they name the individuals carrying out the 'War on Woke' and, in the article, show the nexus between the various shytehawks spokespeople and outlets:

Oh dear what? If the comment relates to the sample size, this is from a forthcoming article in a 'rigorously peer-reviewed' journal (according to its webpage), so presumably the editors and reviewers are happy that it is statistically valid, or at least as far as it can be at this historical distance.

I hate the terms woke/anti woke. It's an idea used by people who seem to consider themselves to be worthly of evaluating others, judging them according to a set of standards which seem to be changing all the time. To be honest the whole concept isn't very "woke" in itself. You don't need to be something to treat people equally and fairly, it just requires a bit of common decency.
