We weren't great - the pitch was so bobbly nobody got control of the ball.

Hoban made one fantastic last ditch block as did Guedioura in the second half.

Gomes didn't really have a save to make other than dealing with a few crosses.

We looked the most likely to score throughout.

Good 3 points in a difficult game.

    This.

That song, and "We're top of the league" (last heard when 2-1 up against Forest) are banned until the final whistle after the Wednesday game!

It was good and it helped that Mark Chapman is one of the better radio/TV interviewers

Wouldn't mind a Boro win against Muff on Saturday. Then if we win it's a nice little 5 point gap going into the international break for the two of us. I don't care how we go up, 1st or 2nd is just fine. Although seeing Troy lift the Championship trophy against Wednesday on the last day of the season would be incredible!

Agreed. Also Boro have a far harder run in than Muff so better for them to win

Please let's not turn in to Lesta fans.
    We've achieved nothing so far.

    Bring on Ipswich.

I heard we are top of the league after Deeney scored his pen on the drive home

Hands are still shaking, i feel sick with excitement. I always believed we'd chase down the teams in the top 6 but we haven't achieved anything yet (not even play offs). All the teams around us have had a wobble in the past month or so and i'm sure we will at some point but i suppose tonight isn't the night to worry about that. I'm not going to gloat, best to keep calm and stay classy for now because if you dish it out you have to expect it back, and if we do mess this up it'll be much more painful for those on the receiving end of 'banter'. Anyone needing a reminder should remember how this place was after the last time we threw away 'the greatest opportunity ever' (Leeds at home, and or the play off final depending which was the better opportunity in your opinion)

GREAT win. Stressful 45 mins of hitting refresh on the watford tweets page literally every 15 seconds in 2nd half

Buzzing - but let's not get carried away. FEET ON THE GROUND.

We were joint top 3 games ago, joint top 2 games ago and we are still (only) JOINT top now.

    8 cup finals to go

(And please - no top of the league songs on Sat)

I'm hearing that the fans at Wigan today were singing ''Tommie Hoban's having a party, bring Ben Watson and Munari''.

If true a huge well done to all involved.

There must be several hundred on this board who'll be going to the match on Saturday.

Can we all promise to sing our hearts out but NOT to sing "we are going up" or "we are top of the league"?

We all need to tune in to the vibe that Slavisa is creating. We haven't won anything yet; let's keep our collective focus on the now.

Exactly, be confident and support the team but we don't need to sing those type of songs. I like the Tommie Hoban chant that was mentioned though

Great to see Tommie Hoban consistently putting in quality performances, even when played out of position.

The people that wrote him off a while back seem to forget he's only 21 and missed a year of development due a serious injury.

Attitide, pace, strength, positional awareness. He's the future of our defence.

Same Wigan who beat Norwich so a job well done.

Not getting too excited, could all be very different after the 6th April.

Refuse to let myself that we are going to do it. Credit to Slav and the players though. They've faced some adversity this year and seem to have come out of it all stronger. Finally feels like the whole club is pulling in the same direction. Momentum is a difference maker at this time of the year and we seem to have it. We are so close to something monumental. So close. Come on.

First half was cagey, the pitch turned every simple pass into a problem. Once we scored Wigan started hoofing and it just got easier to defend against, there was only going to be one winner with our back line. .... Hoban was pretty immense for a change, he's definitely growing on me. Deeney scores with his head again (and what a header it was!)

    Hell No!!

Jokanovic wants confidence, not superstitious pu55ies who are scared of disappointment. He believes we are good enough to do it, and so should everyone involved with the club, so be confident.

Remind the team of our goal, be confident, tell it to the world, and if we don't make it in the end, f**k it, we go again next year.

Personally I think we can and will do it and we need the swagger of Leicester, who believed they could do it and did. I can survive if we fail, and I can take it if someone says we were giving it the big 'un. There is no shame in believing in your club, and it is not arrogant to recognise that we have a damned good side that every other team in the league are petrified of.

Be confident. Back the team. Let them feed off our confidence. A confident crowd will sing louder than a scared crowd, so stay at home (no don't, just get a seat in the upper GT) if you don't think we'll go up, or if you are scared of heroic failure, or if you are a superstitious old heather hoofer.

If I think we are going up, I'm going to tell everyone, and I (metaphorically and lovingly) spit on anyone that cowers away when we sing that we are going up, or raises the cross to ward off evil.

Jokanovic did not mean us to be cautious. He meant us to believe it, go for it, don't sit back and wait for it. Not expectation, but belief.

COME ON YOU HORNS - WE ARE GOING UP

Well done to you DB and all Horns who made the journey - you all came across loud and proud on 3CR the whole 90.

And Rene Gilmartin, who was excellent in his analysis and commentary, mentioned how Troy has been practicing pens with him, and yeah that pen shows the confidence of a man and team on form.

Top marks to Slav who is showing himself as a master tactician and keeps everyone focussed. He asked us to 'believe' in a WO article a few weeks ago.

Feet on the ground, focus on the next game, but I, for one, do believe it's our time.

Great result, it appears my apprehension was misplaced :) Great to see Deeney bag yet another brace. Sounds like Forest had another good game witha hand in both goals. Big applause to Hoban who sounded like he was a colossus at LWB.

I noticed Deeney's pen was different from previous ones. Usually he goes down the middle, but since missing that one recently, he's obviously made an effort to change his technique. Last nights was unstoppable.

I think Al-Habsi was expecting it to go down the middle too. Which explains why he took the Steve Sherwood technique of rooted to the spot
