He had been ill for quite a while so it was somewhat expected, she seems to be coping well.
She did well today on the quiz to

didn't think i'd keep first place with that timing. bl**dy client rang in mid quiz and i had talk coherently to her while doing the quiz.

 

I'm just annoyed that I got one wrong. I've lost 1st place in the overall standings thanks to some terrible scores this week, combined with Afanof waiting til end of day to submit her efforts, when she knows what to beat. Crafty cow.

 

Somebody give me an idea on a custom subject for next Thursday.

Aha! I've been doing that for a couple of months now and the reason is that I wait until another computer is free because the hamster in mine is old and it doesn't go very fast so I was getting right answers but losing out on time. Anyway, done the last two earlier as I'm in Derbyshire and borrowing a computer but I still beat ya!

 

I've completely Keeganed it this month. I was home and dry but am on the verge of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm absolutely livid with myself. In my haste to post a quick time I only part-read the Mark Twain question, saw an answer which began "Miss" and clicked it. When I saw a big red X next to it I realised I'd ticked Missouri instead of Mississippi. This could very well have cost me this month's title.

Small consolation is that I look certain to beat Fan, Berks, Whipp and Moose.

I've farcically come bottom after the bloody people that host the quiz decided to do maintanence during my attempt and thus when i clicked submit i got the page telling me they were doing work on the site for half an hour, thus i come back to it now and it apparently took me over 5000 seconds to do the quiz

 

It's happened to me a couple of times. 10-1030am is site maintenance.
