Enough of this pessimism, I'm getting  with all the doom and gloom, lets get the optimism going again!

We still have 60 points to play for, and I honestly believe 25 more will be enough to keep us in the Premiership, so we can still afford to lose nearly a dozen games and still survive!

So even if we don't manage to get another point this year, we will still have plenty of time to get the points we need when we strengthen in January, and strengthen we will!

Just watch us fly WHEN we get someone to put the ball in the net! Those one goal defeats we are currently suffering, will start to become one goal wins, and before you know it we WILL have the points we need, just keep your  , and trust in Aidy.

i bloody hope so. i believe we will stay up too but it seems every week and every games proves some different reason why we won't stay up. who'll want to sign? ******** talking about signing billy sharp and other league 1 and 2 players who will not improve us at all.

we need players who will perform now, do people not see that. let's not plan for relegaton by saying 'oh that player will be good in the championship'. sign good players. spend 10/15 million. we must take this gamble to survive as we've got the manager and the mentality, we're just lacking a little bit of quality in midfield and up front.

if we do go down we can just sell these players if they want to leave the club.

We can't afford £10m but we should certainly risk a couple of million. Look at how WBA avoided relegated a couple of years back - they loaned good players in January and made a couple of signings as well.
For me, we'll beat Newcastle on the last day of the season at the Vic and jump Sheff Utd to safety. It's written in the history books already...

    me too :)

i do agree with your comments, and that we should be buying premiership class players (especially a striker!) but i do not think we will
because i'm not sure whether we have that much, need to spend that much, plus its a big gamble which could be spent on youth/stadium/trainind facilities which would improve us in the long term.

and yes, i do think that we will stay up. My optimism is dipping by each lost game, however with a decent striker and some extra players that show some passion in their game, we will have the quality to stay up. :)

I think for some people optimism is being confused with delusion and negativity with realism. I'm sorry, but making outlandish claims about us picking up a huge no. of points after we sign a couple of players in Jan does not make it likely to happen. I'd love to be proved wrong, but any sane person can see that we need a miracle to survive.

Good as down B4 today .....

If U believe in Father Christmas then U may believe that Adey is capable of dragging this rabbit out of the hat >>>

As for me, I'm just looking forward to some great footie at the Vic !!

We have to make sure, as fans, that we enjoy this season as much as possible because it could be a while before we appear in the Premiership again. You can't doubt the passion, grit and fight in the players but it just boils down to the fact that we are simply not good enough at this level. We can moan and groan about the players and staff but we have to remember that we have come a hell of a long way in a year, and some people seem to think that we will be battling for Europe. Its time to be realistic...

The problem is badger is that there is NOTHING to enjoy.

    You will be proved wrong

Why is picking up 25 points delusional and insane?

Sorry mate it aint that difficult, just look at the blades three away goals all season and they get three wins from those 3 goals!

I believe, and I am sure you will correct me if I'm wrong, that they have picked up 10 points from thier last 4 matches, so why can't we do the same, and even better?

I truly believe that all we are lacking as a team, is someone to put away the umpteen chances we create, and I don't think that 7 wins and 4 draws will be beyond us, as long as we get a striker or two to get those goals!

I admit we do have to get those strikers, but I have every faith in Aidy getting them.

So don't write us off yet :p

Im sure we could do the same after a few shrewd January signings- the problem is the likes of sheffield United already have those points and its highly unlikely that come January we will be in a position to catch them up with a mere 10points! I'm sorry but it is! At the end of the day they are likely to build on their recent points haul while we are likely not to pick up any points until Fulham away at the earliest!

I think a total of around 35 points will be enough to keep us up, and I believe we will achieve that sort of figure. Three other teams will get less IMHO, so as I said before.....

What ever happens to us this season or future seasons , I will always be Watford through and through . This isn't the first relegation fight that we have been in and it wont be the last . I will always believe that we can win the fight until it is mathematically impossible for us to do so.

    Magic

Im starting to feel that it will take something magical to stay up now but then again ive always thought that it would be like this at this stage even before the season. I also imagined a post christmas point bananza to make it very tight for us at the bottom near end of season. Maybe this is just too many drunken sessions watching football years. o well.

I just hope the board don't start throwing £££££ to a lost cause, £££££ should have been invested LAST summer.

Retrospective management is soooooo easy !!!!

Invested in who exactly? Do you not think we were simply outright flat rejected by a lot of targets, regardless of the money on offer?

I think that alot of Adey's targets would far sooner have moved to a large CCC club than us, sad but true.
