...just to add to your brilliant updates - Michael Folivi wasn't in the Coventry City matchday squad as the Sky Blues went down 0-2 to Premiership quality* Millwall.

*If Millwall beat us and we then beat Arsenal, does that mean the Bermondsey Lions are a top half Prem. team?!?

 

Sven Kums has been re-loaned out to a Swedish maker of adult movies. With a name like that it was surely his destiny !

 

Watched the Granada game tonight to see how Uche Agbo and Aly Malle got on. They both played well - Uche is like Behrami, horrible to play against, constantly breaking up play, snapping at ankles and leading the pressing. He's not bad on the ball either but is a bit ill disciplined - this was his first game back after a 3 game ban for kicking someone off the ball and he could have been sent off again, having committed three or four fouls after getting booked.

Aly Malle though is a seriously exciting prospect - he's not as physically strong or quick as Success and Penaranda when they were playing for Granada last year but he has no fear, has excellent delivery into the box and uses the ball far better than the other two did last year. For an 18 year old making his third appearance in La Liga, he was excellent. Here's a few comments translated from Spanish fans on twitter that give a flavour of how well he played:

 

Is Aly Malle actually owned by Watford? Someone posted our latest squad with Agbo in the U21 section, but I couldn't see Malle. Hopefully he is!

Yes but it may be the most effective chant ever for winding up oppo supporters. The "small town in Blackburn" chant at Burnley had them foaming at the mouth for years, esp on the "goodbye Graham day" pre Vialli.

 

When was the last time we loaned someone out, it was successful, and he came back and made inroads in the first team ? Other than Beleck and Hogg, I can't think of anyone recently. It seems to be the first step out of the departure lounge into the abyss.

 

Watched Granada lose 4-0 away to Eibar on Monday . It could have been more. Aly Malle missed an open goal from no more than a yard away !!!

 

Doucoure is an exception to the rule but usually it's the beginning of the end at the club it seems

 

And a big flap from Krul who has been awful so far for AZ apparently. Pleased that Oulare is playing 90 minutes every week now after barely playing for a season and a half. Those fitness issues look like they're gone. This Willem loan could be the one that turns it around for him and gives him his confidence back.

Well, to be perfectly candid, until recently pretty much anyone with anything that even smelled like quality or potential was typically kept here to win games. What was loaned away were the has-beens and the never-will-bes.

 

Penaranda left out of the Malaga squad again tonight, seems that loan is going the way of the Udinese one. He's not injured, just not being selected.

Some other news from Granada, Aly Malle was dropped from the squad last weekend but responded with a goal for Granada B so travelled with the first team squad this weekend but didn't get in the match day 18. Uche Agbo played though, and hit the post as Granada went down 3-1 at Athletic Bilbao. Also playing his third game having recently been promoted from Granada B was 18 year old Cameroonian centre back Martin Hongla. Granada fans are convinced he's owned by the Pozzos and is on loan there but can't see any official confirmation either way.

Pervis Estupinan has returned to Granada B after a successful South American u20 Championship where Ecuador finished runners up and he scored 4 times in 5 games from left back.

In Granada's academy team, Juan Camilo Becerra Maya (registered with the Premier League as one of our u21 players) continues to score freely, he's now on 13 for the season and has scored 8 in his last 5 games. Looks like he's just turned 19 so wonder whether he might move up to Granada B soon.

I think that'll be the norm from now on. There will be numerous young prospects that we own but may never see play, some of whom are never even officially announced before they leave the club. It's quite hard to even work out exactly which young players we've signed as the Pozzos seem to operate quite an opaque system. I'm guessing they've done this for a while but it's only now that we're the cash cow that we'll be the ones "signing" all these players. I suppose it makes sense, if you sign 10 players from lesser leagues in South America and Africa for a few hundred thousand euros, you only need one or two to make it to have made a huge profit.
