Can't help thinking Watford avoided a very rocky future today. SD pretty much admitted it during his Hive Live interview. He alluded a couple of times to having doubts Watford could keep going this season.

We must always have an eye on being in a better shape if we ever go down again. We cannot be in a position where we have to bounce back first time or completely implode.

We'll quickly see in which direction the club will go depending on the quality of signing we make (or at least try to make).

Hopefully, we'll make some shrewd free transfer signings and loans. I'd be happy with that. Just as long as we get the finances under control and have a competitive side that has a good chance of staying up.

He's got excellent technical ability, he's quick & works hard for 90 minutes. His main problem in the Prem was getting caught out of position way too often when bombing forward. Maybe that's something that the right coach can sort out. Not much wrong with the rest of his game IMO.

    A word on Bachmann today.

Couple of moments when he could have been more assertive in coming to claim.

However he pulled off some very decent saves and helped us to the win.

    A crucial performance.

I love the fact that we're up. Bournemouth may well do it in the playoffs but as things stand, that's not a certainty and I love the fact that tonight, while we're all celebrating promotion they'll be sweating about their result today and the possibility they may **** up promotion.

If not a whoosh or you were drunk in 2015, but we won promotion on 25th April that year.

It was certainly a risky time to get relegated financially, but it did give us a great chance to bounce back up first time with most of our team staying (albeit many came close to leaving!). I'm not expecting much from next season, but it could be a good time to go up, there'll be bargains to be had from abroad and maybe from the Championship too. I'm not asking for us to spunk £30-40m on any one player, but if we could try and pick up some young rough diamonds for £5-10m who will a) keep us up, b) be sold on for a decent fee, or c) stick around in the case of relegation, we'll be alright

    Yes and no
I quite like the away to "Muff"
Also there is some sort of justice if the the relegated covid teams go straight back up
Also the Prem will be virtually the same except Sheff Utd/Leeds

Yeah I think that it was obvious last season that the club never realistically considered the possibility that we would be relegated - and to be fair with the quality in that squad it was quite the achievement.

I wouldn't be surprised if we handed out a lot of those later deals with no relegation clauses etc.

This squad is nowhere near as good as the one that got themselves relegated, so I think we will be seeing a far more cautious approach this time around. I would put the chances of us being back down here this time next year pretty high...

It's a series of videos. Lots of celebration scenes on the pitch and in the changing room. An absolute joy to see!

Little speech from Xisco then straight into 'Freed From Desire' celebrations!

Or, he has just managed to correct a handful out of the many hundreds of errors he committed over the previous 3 seasons.

If he had listened to the Wetters in summer 2019 and January 2020, we would be much better off.

Good thing we didn't take that £25m for Sarr that Palace offered, hey?

Played an average game today and yet still won and scored the winning penalty.

...arguably this is the second promotion that fans haven't actually seen live...I was in a pub in Brighton in 14/15 when Norwich and Boro failing to win sent us up! Could be a QoS question in years to come!

    Not complaining, brilliant day!

Shut up mate. I for one would rather hear Helen Ward rambling on about something instead of Isaac Success smashing into every single person on the pitch ons drunken ramapage.

His best performance this season and they won’t even let us watch it.

Did you say in another post that Cleverley is not good enough to be a regular starter in the Prem but Chalobah might be? The funny thing is, Cleverley has been more consistent, the better player for galvanizing the team and being a calming influence on the younger 'uns in a Championship promotion push without having Chalobah's technical ability, whereas Chalobah is more one for the next level.

Kiko had a spell for us in the top flight when I understand he had some big mental health issues and looked an appalling player at the time. Apart from that time he looked very capable in the Premier League.
