My passion for this club is completely gone. I just feel mostly numb to it at this point. What we've become is nothing short of a disgrace, both on and - more importantly - off the pitch. I've lost my love for the club. It doesn't feel like my club any more. At all.
We do not have a team. We have a squad put together like a new MLS franchise I’ll always love the football club but at the moment we have no identity and I’m done spending my time watching these current individuals until there’s some backbone in the team. I don’t care if that’s in the premier league or not
The club have been an utter disgrace all season. And yet have somehow managed to sink even lower with their actions of the past 24hrs. I wonder how many fans are at the stage of no return now…
Forget using the Z Cars theme when going on to the pitch. Let's have the Madness song "You're an embarrassment "
Another thrashing from a supposed relegation rival. Another last-ditch opportunity to try and save ourselves responded to with a guileless, brainless, disjointed mess of a performance, almost universally across the pitch. Another abysmal, uninterested performance from our record transfer and star man who will save us from financial oblivion by attracting bids of an equal value to Chelsea Football Club in the summer. We aren't a real football team, and we haven't been at any point this season. We're a strange, Frankenstein impersonation of one. Today has effectively rubber stamped our relegation, and it's not surprising in the slightest, but it is April. What a miserable season, from start to finish. We're a basket case, and thanks to the ownership we have no defence against the accusation; it's entirely true. Meanwhile, they're more concerned with putting dodgy mechanisms in place to make sure they don't have to face any of the ramifications from the supporter base or answer to anyone. No attacking patterns of play whatsoever; no midfield control; no organisation in defence; no capacity for intelligence or decision-making from player to player. We are the easiest team to play against in the world. It's laughable. That Roy was an inspired appointment, eh! We don't offer anything at all. A disgrace.
Yawn. So predictable. Feel sorry for those who want to waste a Saturday afternoon watching this spineless team.
This was worse than the Norwich game for me. Horrible performance. Kamara was solid and Louza was ok. Thought Kucka had some nice moments, but he shouldn't shoot. Was rightly subbed though as he would have been abysmal after the 70th minute. Foster, Samir, Sissoko, Pedro and especially Sarr, horrific performances. Others not mentioned already, not much better. I can't see us getting more than 3-4 more points before the end of the season.
Watch the games because I feel like I have to, not because I want to. Just shrug my shoulders after another capitulation and move on.
We attempted 58 dribbles today. Wouldn't be surprised if that is a club / season / prem record. Shows that we are a bunch of individuals.
I am booked to come over next week and I might just go to the natural history museum instead. Dreary times to be a wfc fan.
The sad truth is that, apart from those glorious opening 60 minutes of our campaign back in the lovely August sunshine, we’ve contributed hardly anything to the Premier League season. Few people will miss us. We’ve just become a by-word for mismanagement, a parody of ourselves, the total shitshow that our friends who support other clubs always used to tease us that we were but we refused to admit. The powers-that-be have recruited badly yet again. They’ve alienated loyal supporters who’ve been around for many more decades than the one they have been in charge. They’ve made so many people on this forum, myself included, dread match days. They've sucked the happiness, the enthusiasm, the optimism from so many of us, and reduced us to apathy at best, misery at worst. And to surpass it all, the management that previously thought that bringing QSF back was a wise move, or appointing McKinlay or hiring Pearson then firing him with two games of the season left etc etc decide to trump all their nonsensical decisions of the past by bringing Hodgson out of retirement. An odious man and an odious coach. The last hope well and truly extinguished, the last bit of optimism, the last hint of any joy. We risk heading into oblivion for a few years to come, and while it’s hard to really care much about the rest of this season, there are bigger issues at stake for us to be concerned about now. Because currently we are only heading one way unless there’s a huge rethink and changes in key personal. 9 straight home defeats. Just let that sink in. It’s never been this bad.
Ok first an apology. @GoingDown - your excellent preview deserved more than what that shower was. On behalf of WFCForums - the players betrayed you. I'm not even angry - it's more acceptance now. I said in the SB we we're down when Norwich beat us, today just hammered the failed nail in the coffin. Brentford and Citee can dig the grave that we will be lowered into. Even had Manure beat Everton, would we have played better? No chance. That was Norwich levels of bad - I cannot even remember us threatening them, let alone scoring. Absolute shambles at the back yet again. Leeds hardly got out of second gear. Sarr was again awful, it's pretty clear he doesn't want to be here anymore - but he is doing his price tag no favours with another rancid display. Roy is here for the extended pay - not his fault really he never oversaw the tragic start to our season and more bungled transfers on cheap crud. Very quiet VR today it seemed... cannot blame them. We should rename our ground to "Have a nice day out and pick up your 3pts on the way home". Not one of them cared or broke a sweat, just relegate us now PL, it's just delaying what we all knew and have known. Oh, and @hornetboy1 , I love your loyalty - but even you must know it's over now. Ivan Toney hat-trick next game. Probably still won't be gone mathematically, but City away will make sure our GD never recovers. I feel for the fans' who did go and sit through yet another waste of 90mins. It's very hard to have any joy in our home games anymore. Hopefully next season we can finally win a few. Cannot think of much more to say... just numb to it.
Absolutely.! We just don't do "gonna beat a close rival" in recent years, ever.! I said 0-3 this morning explain to the Mrs that we always mess up after a decent performance against top half teams, but deep down I had a tiny hope that we could break the spell..... What a tw*T I am. Agree we are just not a "team" we are a random collection of impetuous or useless journeymen... Lots of heart but zero balls. Ps is it possible we not playing Etebo so as not to hit a nbr of games that trigger his purchase.?
Yep. There is nothing for a neutral to like about our club. We have petulant, arrogant people in charge, play crap football, there's no feelgood story anywhere in the club. We don't even really have any burgeoning young stars. The Premier League will be pleased to see this is a turd that can be flushed and frankly, I don't blame them.
Agree with all of that except the criticism of Roy. He's improved us and given us a chance. He deserves our respect. We are definitely making progress under him.
Conjectured on this earlier this afternoon on this thread: https://wfcforums.com/index.php?thr...united-3-09-04-2022.59251/page-4#post-3117889
That’s the sad truth, for all the good work the club do with the NHS and many other things, it’s all irrelevant because we do our main job and every angle that we approach from so appallingly. When most people turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabia buying a club, they aren’t going to give a toss about any good we actually do, because it’s all drowned out by the complete circus elsewhere.
I suggest for our own sanity, that until the end of the season we swap the forum to supporting another team I suggest Wrexham (so we don’t need to worry about the whole WFC thing) They are 2nd in the national league , so something to chase for
