Salah cannot conceal how sh1te we are. Meanwhile, Ben thanks him and his team mates for giving him plenty of fetching the ball out of the goal practice and can he have his shirt, shorts, and jockstrap as he collects them. Awesome.
Just watched some of his post match ramble. Claudio admitted Watford were "nervous" to play Liverpool today, but also said he saw some very bad things but also some positive things. He said (which I do agree) the last 20mins was our best spell but that's only because there was no point in Liverpool trying anymore. He actually sounded very upbeat which is surprising after a hammering like that at home, but he feels he can organize the side and turn us around. If we get nervous facing Liverpool, how do they feel when they go to the Etihad?
I read Liverpool have scored at least 3 in all their away games this season. They're in a really good place at the moment and Salah has been on fire playing for his new contract. I'm not reading too much into this one but the next two games will tell us a lot.
And—which is more—you’ll be xx(a Man)xx the current Watford head coach, my son! Well until Emperor Gino gives you the thumbs down.
Mooney rimmed Salah on the commentary as if the four-minute warning had sounded. This was another of his positives to take from the game.
He was terrible, runs straight into his man every time, has the Aguero / Tevez like posture and play style but absolutely no brain and that is worrying.
If Cathcart doesn't touch the ball and Salah then scores then it's offside. However, Cathcart touches it and plays him on, is my understanding of what happened, but I could be wrong.
One of my favourite moments was Troost Ekong in the second half kicking it straight to Liverpool under no pressure, Liverpool kindly give it straight back 15 seconds later and he gave it right back to them in the middle of the park once again. Incompetence beyond words.
WTE was **** but I've come to expect it. Absolutely no ability whatsoever, even when Liverpool didn't press he aimlessly hoofed it back to them. He might be a good talker on the pitch but he's by far our worst player with the ball at his feet and hopefully Ranieri sees it.
We can all see it. The CB’s are not up to it at this level. It’s not a new revelation. The board chose to ignore the issues and will pay the price for it with relegation, so it will hit them in the pocket. They have really fooked up with such an underinvestment, which has produced an utterly hopeless side as a result. No one else is to blame for this mess apart from those at the top making the decisions.
It really wouldn't have been hard to bring in an upgrade at CB even on a loan or a free in the summer. Even bringing in Nkoulou in the summer would have helped! But yet again we wait until we're caught short before reacting. The club couldn't build a suitable squad when we had money and they can't do it when we don't have money. Forget the coaches and sporting directors, that all comes down to Gino and Scott and they just aren't learning.
Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy seeing world class players at the Vic. It's a privilege to see Mane, Firminho and Salah. Absolutely sublime. This is what being in the Premier League is all about for me. Watching you clogging **** team getting a train run on it by a gang bang of liverpool strikers scoring easy goals from basic football. Best league in the world. More on this weeks pod.
Well that was sad,, I had the joy of watching on BT and listening to jennas commentating, he is an annoying ****. the positives , somehow we are not in the bottom three The negatives we were toothless , spineless and looked **** , foster was poor , rose looked awful (not sure he was worse than anybody else but salah made him his bitch for 90 mins), we didn’t look like ourselves either , normally when we are outclassed at least we are kicking the **** out of the opposition I don’t think we had a single yellow card when did that last happen ? ngakia , cucho and sissoko looked like they were trying a bit particularly at the end but far too late to be much solace. I hate Liverpool with a passion and particularly salah who is a smug ******* (but I still had him as my FPL captain so not all bad), thank **** it wasn’t Man City today they would have put 10 past us. not a good start for the tinkerman
It's literally his job. Without even a special programme to shed the pounds, he trains all week and should be watching his food. He should have lost the weight by now. The only way he wouldn't is if he continues to eat poorly and is slacking in training. There's no other way a professional sportsman ends up that fat, this far into a season.
A nice day out. That, apart from debating refereeing decisions with your mates in the pub, is all that matters.
Bad, just bad. Had to go to the ticket office as it did not recognise my e ticket, then sat in the wrong row of seats, then the game. Highlight was a cheap bottle of white at bosleys Post game. Now looking forward to family boomer gathering on my return at 20:30.
nah he was decent mate. At least what I heard. I saw some highlights on the news. Don’t really rate this place but it’s cheap enough.
The highlight for me was seeing 2 Mormons wearing half and half scarves in the High Street before the game.
I agree. Our squad is desperately poor. I think we've got some potentially strong attacking options, but the fact that Catchart is still starting Premier League games for us, 7 years after we first got promoted, is a damning statistic on it's own, even if it's not the worst piece of decision making that's occured. That doesn't mean Xisco should have stayed. He should have gone in the summer. He was inept and offered nothing, but I can't see how any coach gets a huge amount out of some of these players. I think there's an argument to make us more organised and difficult to break down, but the huge lack of talent we have in defence and midfield is relegation fodder. We are in a tough spot for sure.
I think we got a real taste of The Tinkerman trying to be over clever today . I totally get playing 3 at back but Rose as CB and Masina as WB ? I’m intrigued to know what the thinking behind that is . Some convoluted plan to deal with the Salah threat perhaps ? The fact that Salah skinned Rose 3 times in first 10 mins was proof that was naive . The choice to play Sarr up top as our only outlet ie long ball , is strange . Surely Ranieri watched the 3-0 victory against Liverpool last time and must have seen the way we beat them was Sarr on the right running onto clipped balls into the channel .
