For once I agree with Troy - I also hope he isn't on the bench much.

 

If he doesn't like sitting on the bench, there is an obvious solution before the window closes.

But in all seriousness, why has it taken him until age 33 to realise he doesn’t need the physique of a boxer to play football effectively?

 

Sarr needs someone quick by his side in order to counter. His flick-on to Dennis was better than what Troy normally does and Sarr had the pace to follow it up and score. Dennis drew the defenders away from Sarr. Troy would still be on the halfway line.

We have possibly the quickest front three in the league. End of the day our best chance of survival is the get the best out of Sarr, not Deeney.

 

On TalkSport at 9am today. First time he has been in the media for a while.

 

Realised that his plan of slimming down to become Watford’s undisputed best player hasn’t worked out so needs to get the attention he seeks another way.

Deeney hasn't played a League Cup game for us in 4 years. And has only played 3 for us in 8 years. We just don't seem to use him too much in the early rounds.

 

In fairness though this is probably the first time for 4 years he hasn't been first choice? I seem to remember Silva wasn't too keen on him.

Edit: looking back Deeney didn't start the games either side of the cup game he started in 2017.

Imagine if the man who finally bins him off ends up being a glorified PE teacher who did his work experience in the Georgian league.

#WatfordFC transfer breaking Troy Deeney could leave prior to deadline with limited game time likely after arrivals of Dennis, King & other attacking options. Nothing agreed as yet but may see 33 yr old exit after 11 full seasons at VR.

I’d be happy to see him go. I look forward to being able to look back fondly on the contributions of a proper club legend, rather than getting wound up by an over-the-hill waste of resources who can’t keep himself out of the media.
