There will be new faces at the Vic on Saturday. For Cardiff .. Got in 3/4 new players this week I think .
Yes, there was interest from our side this month - not sure how seriously we considered it but there were some discussions at least.
I'd have been on the blower during the Sheff Wed game after that midfield display Oh well. We're doing better than I expected this season.
No way we'd have sold him today. Nothing to do with weakening the squad, Pozzo will hope for an auction in the summer.
If Gino really wants the playoffs then we are completely relying on our starting 11 remaining 100% fit and no suspensions. Kayembe will probably start once fit instead of Chakvetadze.
Think it’s frustration more than surprise. It’s not an easy window to operate in - but I do get fans frustrations. It’s clear we are short in a few areas and comments like ‘one in, one out’ just to see more outs than in’s is annoying. I don’t 100% believe Ismael is being sold short with what he wants - I think there’s an element of him being ‘too choosy’ with what is available/offered as well I’m not frustrated with today - it comes with the territory of who our owner is. He doesn’t ‘do’ Deadline Day...never has. More fool anyone who put any value into thinking we would do some business today, it should dawn on people by now quite frankly. I can understand why people are upset with the window (I’m not overly but think more could have been done) - but today was never on the cards.
Hull have probably had the best January but personally I think we've signed the best player (when fit).
Ismael said he doesn’t like free agents. Unless Gino wants to sign one, then he’ll slime his way around his previous words.
Dennis was pretty much a free agent given how much football he'd been playing. Still, a good window. A player who isn't fit, a midfielder we already had and a CB who was free to leave less than a week ago. All whilst binning off a midfielder we spunked our whole PL budget on not too long ago.
That says more that we did poor business a few years ago rather than this window, I don't think this window was bad per se (although signing Giorgi for a supposed £2m is not a good use of limited funds), but yet again we've been hamstrung by inadequate windows in the past
‘No clubs are signing anyone if you look’ ‘Pollock is like a new signing’ ‘Chak is a great signing’ ‘Decent business keeping Asprilla’ Genuine comments from social media. They’ll be there on Saturday, getting the kids to hold up their ‘can I have your shirt’ signs that apparently have a safety certificate and clapping them off win, embarrassingly lose or draw. As you were. More on the emergency twitter space later.
And a lot critical of the Pozzos and lack of signings too. https://twitter.com/hashtag/WatfordFC?src=hashtag_click&f=live
Go on then, who's the least **** out of this lot? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spi...klasse=&wettbewerb_id=alle&seit=alle&yt0=Show
A squad already on it's arse, three shifted out, one brought in who won't be ready to start a game for a couple of weeks. I'd give this window a solid B+ On the bright side this is hopefully an indicator that Pozzo is f*cking off in the summer. I hate him.
How does this even make sense? For someone who throws a hissy fit for selectively picking bits of peoples posts, you don't half do it yourself.... The first line of my post your quoting literally says 'I’m not for one moment saying we are still looking to sign anyone…'
It was clearly a suggestive comment though in mentioning that - it was leaving the door open to it being possible. That is still at odds with it having been "never on the cards". It was a comment whereby you could have said "I told you so" afterwards whatever the outcome, whether we'd signed someone or not.
Apart from I've never been an 'I told you so' type poster. People know that. Just go and act odd to someone else, it's boring.
Pozzo loves our odd fans. Complete and utter unaccountability for anything he does short term or long term.
Crazy that Ejaria is without a club. I remember how dangerous him and Olise looked together in our last promotion season.
There's a few that could do a job there but they probably won't be fit until March and we don't have any money for wages.
Yep. As much as I don’t get the clamour around Deadline Day myself (and let’s face it, it’s not quite what it used to be in the wider scale either…no more Berbatov’s or Robinho’s, it’s now Forest buying ex-Newcastle backup keepers that make the headlines)…you can’t help but feel Gino actively does things (or doesn’t!) to antagonise the fans.
